Bleed Out Your Heart

Rate this book
When you’ve been stripped of your soul, bleed out your heart…
Marly Michaels had it all, popularity, good looks, a promising future, and the perfect relationship… or so it seemed. In reality, that perfect relationship was a living nightmare. With a methodical stripping away of her confidence, her volatile ex-fiancé nearly succeeds in destroying her. She has tried to escape in the past, but in the end, he always finds her. In one last desperate attempt at freedom, Marly turns to her long lost childhood friend, Carla for help. She, and her eccentric friends welcome Marly into their circle with open arms. In the company of Goths, a segment of society shrouded in mystery and speculation, Marly finally finds sanctuary, and Gray Forrester.

Gray is the mesmerizing singer for local Goth rock band, These Bones. He is a man of many talents, including the ability to heal a wounded spirit. Inexplicably drawn to the sadness in Marly’s eyes, he finds himself compelled to help restore her soul. The trouble is, in order to do that he needs to remain emotionally detached… not an easy task for the gregarious Goth.

Unforgettable characters

Have you ever read a book where you wanted to walk away with the hero and make him yours? Of course we all have. And don't get me wrong, I claimed Gray Forrester the moment I read book 1 in this series. But here is the difference, as much as you want to bring Gray home and cuddle up with him, you can't. Because his destiny is so well defined and so well done in this book that you can't even imagine it any other way.

I don't think I am doing my feelings about this series justice. I guess I am trying to convey that this series makes me want to be part of a different culture or at least learn about it. Kinda like when you read Harry Potter and wanted to be a wizard. Before I even finished, I actually found myself trying to learn more about the Goth culture.

This book dealt with some rather sensitive issues and was done so with a lot of tact. Kudos to the author. And that last line, don't even get me started.

Another good story in the These Bones series! Love Gray! Gray and Marly meet through mutual friends with whom she is staying after escaping an abusive relationship. At first she is petrified of Gray and his aggressive touchy feely ways so he sets out to prove not all men are abusive. Marly agrees to become his PA, cook, and housekeeper in exchange for room and board. Soon, however, she finds herself falling for Gray and thus the "courtship" begins.
I am enjoying this series immensely and highly recommend it!

Marly is running from her past when she meets the Goth, Gray, through mutual friends. I really loved the back story of Marly and between that, and how far she has come, makes her my favorite heroine of this series so far. Gray is comical and I really like him. Even though he likes attention and is dramatic, he has his insecurities. I'm glad he's not perfect, but he's pretty close.

The story can feel predictable sometimes, but I really enjoyed reading the book. The writing is great and I look forward to reading more!

These Bones series were one of the best books i have ever read ! They were so easy to read and realistic which is what everybody looks forward in any book . The characters were so different and charismatic that you don't get bored . And the fact that the boys are goths makes it all even better.
I highly recommend this series and to anyone reading this , please make sure to check The House Of Goths too. :)

read a few of these in one day, exercising that one-click finger, amazon makes it too easy to own every book, haha!
these are completely addictive books! while it's true they could have more polish/editing (and I'm usually kinda crazy about that) the emotion is there and when I hit a genre I love, I go pretty hard. highly recommended if you love goth boys!

love the heroine in this one too, she had a bit more bite to her and I loved it!

perfect book for this couple

I really enjoyed this book. Finally getting Gray's book was lovely. I loved the whole goth & mainstream love theme these books portrayed. And I have to say Marly is my favorite These Bones heroine so far.
Looking forward to Jesse!!

I struggled with this one. Loved Gray, have done through the series. Couldn't stand Marly though. Story was pretty much what I've come to expect from the author but my dislike of the heroine stopped me enjoying it. Which is a shame, been looking forward to Grays book from the start.

I'm still looking forward to reading the next one though. Might not have enjoyed this one but I have enjoyed her other books so not going to let it put me off. There was nothing wrong with the writing or the story, the heroine just was not my cup of tea at all.

After reading Falquen’s Nest, I knew I absolutely had to go straight for Gray Forrester’s story and I’m sure glad I did. This book did not disappoint in any way shape or form.
Although some would turn away from Gray’s over-the-top persona, and dramatic antics, I actually enjoyed every second of his lovable nature. I mean, what’s not to like about him? He’d caught my interest in Falquen’s Nest, but he won me over in Bleed Out Your Heart.
There were several aspects of his life I did not see coming. For example, his day job. But these random twists really served to put the story together and shape it into the amazing love story that it turned into. I rather enjoyed the fact that he was so forward, but at the same time sweet and gentle. I delighted in how he liked to call attention to himself, and be the center of attention, but had his insecurities as well. It made him more believable as a whole.
Not to be outdone, we are soon introduced to Marly, our broken heroine who’s trying to get her life back on track after ending a disastrous relationship with an abusive ex-boyfriend. In comes Gray, who she meets through mutual friends, and from then on its one incredible, page turning event after another.
As Gray begins to work his magic on Marly, we can see how she starts to open up more and spread her wings. Gray, through the art of his mystic touch, slowly but surely gives Marly the confidence to be herself. These two are perfect for each other as different as they are, and you can feel the love they have for one another throughout every chapter.
These characters are easily ones who will stick with me for a while, and I positively loved the ending. Kudos for Maria!

Sweet

Putting the word sweet in a goth story may seem odd but that is Grey Forrester. He is pure romance and makes me wish for times gone by.
