This easy-to-engage-with book is not intended to be an exhaustive treatise on dissertation-writing, but rather a short, practical guide with tips and suggested activities relating to key stages of the process. A range of topics is covered, from first steps in understanding research through to writing the final report.
The book is accompanied by a website that takes forward the themes of each chapter by providing additional reading and sources of information as well as an opportunity to join a discussion with fellow readers. There are video and audio clips from the authors and other experts as well as links to further digital tools and resources.
This book is a good guide for planning and writing your dissertation. There are many good recommendations to help you through the process. I would advise reading this before you begin writing and take notes as you read. Also check your institutions guidelines as well.
Nice basic help, with loads of extra resources.. Although a shame that the companion website isn't kept up to date as many of the extra resources don't work anymore. Also a few spelling mistakes in the book which is mildly concerning from an academic resource.
Very useful book to read in preparation for writing a research dissertation. My only criticism, I would have liked there to be a bit more clear differentiation between Primary and Secondary research.
