I read this book in conjunction with a series of classes on this topic that I took through my church. The themes in this book and the class discussions really helped me in my faith journey as I strive to lead a more spiritual and happy life. I found it to be true that I experience more joy in helping others and in trying to model my life in accordance with the teachings of Christ than I do in satisfying my own wants and needs. We have great power in bringing joy to others and it is too bad that many people do not use this power. The world would be a far better place. I highly recommend reading this book in conjunction with viewing the series of lectures done by the authors in their Discovering Christ and Following Christ video series.
