Ben Jackson STRAITENS me, in the Biblical Sense. What's more, he makes me LAUGH!
He's a great tonic for us confused seniors. And with the Zombie Apocalypse now an ongoing way of life on social media, we've lost our sense of hahas.
If you're an addled senior like me - or even a younger kid who's Petrified by the whole idea of the Apocalypse of the Zombies according to the Great Book of Revelation (they are in fact the four horsemen) Ben's book could be your ticket to ordinary life again.
You know, Banality of Mind is a rare accomplishment. It happens when you finally see you're not much to write home about.
But Zombies see the whole World as dumbed down!
So for me, a former Bipolar Case, the book is a Ticket Back to Normalcy.
Because Zombies had turned my salty Normal to Bland!
Remember when that epochal writer, the lamented Eugene Peterson, wrote that apocalypse is really only zooming in on the horrific details of our minute-by-minute stressed out times?
Yeah.
So now, Ben comes along and Desensititizes us to the biblical Apocalypse further:
By saying we have all lived through a vast assortment of apocalypses now - viral, bacteriological, and behavioural - ALL THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES...
And came out Okay.
But suddenly it's a Zombie World. The Real is the DUMB. Like AI and its infuriating progeny.
And that's what Ben is Saying: don't sweat these small-minded Zombies, cause with our own gifts of ironic banality and the ha-ha's, they're ALL flimsy. They're toast, grist for God's Mill.
Don't worry, you'll be happier. Reality no longer works, but it's not because It's YOU that's responsible. It's those dopey Zombies now.
So Ben swamps em with their small stuff. Buries em ALIVE. We laugh; we begin to lighten up; and we're LIFTED UP -
The author had me at the disclaimer. Anytime a writer warns that his book does not guarantee survival in the event of a zombie apocalypse, you know you are going to have some fun. Ben Johnson has written a comprehensive guide to survive anything from a natural disaster to a zombie apocalypse. Filled with thoughtful and well-researched information, this is a surprisingly interesting read. Chock-full of fascinating tidbits, Johnson explains everything one needs to know to protect themselves. Written tongue-in-cheek style, it is brilliantly laid out in an outline that begins with identifying the enemy, then systematically lays out a reasonable and comprehensive plan to protect oneself, including chapters on food, water, clothing, bug-out-bags, weapons, transportation. Johnson leaves no stone unturned. He gives credible explanations of what has to be done and I especially loved the part describing setting up a group or community in his post-apocalyptic world. Whether you are worried about the end of the earth, or planning to write a book about it, this is a great source that will give you plenty of information that just may keep you alive. It has the added benefit of keeping the reader entertained while it it doing it. I received this book for an honest review.

There seems to be much talk of an impending zombie apocalypse along with numerous books on how to prepare for and survive such an event.. Considering myself a proactive individual, I felt I should read this book. I learned of a few items I hadn't considered in packing a survival kit. The most important thing I learned was determing which weapon would best suit me being below average height and not a fast runner. With new viruses being discovered all too frequently, you never know what tomorrow will bring. The author presented this practical information in an entertaining manner, making this book an enjoyable read.
I have read enough of this to know, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, I wish to die in the first wave. Also, there is too much stuff in their bug out bag. I have been on a wilderness survival course, and I am not lugging all that crap around with me. MREs? Hell, no. Scorpions on a stick, baby.
The author has written a complete model of how to survive from any natural disaster to fight zombies. The book has some interesting points beginning in the first chapter. The author eloquently explains science experiments, accidents in the lab, biological weapons, and types of worldwide viruses. When people hear about World War I, Word War II, Ebola, and Rabies, they wonder whether or not it is possible to face the zombie apocalypse within a few years. I think the guide is also very helpful for writers who wish to write a fiction book about the topic. Ben Jacksons’ guide provides a great source of information from the beginning to the end. It answers what readers may otherwise question or google on their computer. It explains in depth the type of zombies and outbreaks survivors could possibly face, which includes movies such as The night of Living dead, World War Z, I am a legend, Resident Evil, 28 days later, 28 weeks later, and the popular show The walking dead.
This book is a handy little guide to zombies and the zombie apocalypse. I’ve never considered the different types of zombies before but now I have been educated. Fun, informative, and thought provoking, I would recommend this book to preppers and zombie enthusiasts because you never know if and when it could happen.
Loved the book .. Got a chuckle. For those wanting to learn what to do to survive a zombie apocalypse, the author has gone above and beyond. When you complete this book you will know everything you need to do, what you must learn to do, what you must do to prepare for and to survive a zombie apocalypse. If you follow the authors advice, you might stay alive ...
Still remember watching part of '¢The Night of the Living Dead' , scared the shell out of me. Have to admit this book did too. My only source of survival would be to keep running. Creepy book, whatever made Jackson's write it and some publishers publish it?
Everything you wanted to know about zombies. The zombie details and background information make it light and entertaining. However, this is a great action plan for anyone interested in survival tactics.
