STORIES ABOUT SECRETS, KEPT OR REVEALED. Intrigue, life and death, love and hate, good and evil cover these pages as they do in real life; poignant pictures painted with words, life breathed into engaging characters, some worthy of admiration, some deserving of contempt. This exciting collection entertains and challenges. Are these tales based in fact or did the authors make them up? Guess which and you could win seven autographed novels, one from each of these talented authors plus a copy of Secrets, Fact or Fiction? III or IV, (due April of 2007 and 08). Great fun for families with teens, book clubs and classrooms.
I really like the idea behind the Secrets: Fact or Fiction? books. I had the pleasure of reviewing the first title is this series which compiled an anthology of short stories mixing various genres and themes. Some of these entries recall real events. Others are completely fictional. The reader is asked to play a game, while being entertained by the short stories, which accounts are real and which are made up. The idea is fresh and quite fun.
Secrets: Fact or Fiction? II follows the exact same format. Again, readers are asked which entries in this anthology are fact and which are fiction. This time though, the reader has a much harder job. The entries all seem quite realistic with not an overly odd tale in the bunch. Entertaining and fun.
