I really enjoyed this postcolonial, early nineteenth-century Gothic novel very much! It is a simple story and it doesn´t create a lot of suspense, but it is refreshing, interesting and entertaining. Although it was written by an anonymous author, it is obvious that he was a very educated man from England. It is not easy at all to find titles of early Caribbean literature, I think, therefore I am very glad to have bought and read this book!
