Bunking down with the Boss

Rate this book
She should have been satisfied with her new hire, for horse rancher Caroline Portman desperately needed the help. But something about Sam Beaumont made her wonder if there was more to him than the wandering wrangler persona.

Sam exuded a powerful presence, like a man who was used to getting what he wanted…or taking what he couldn't have. And when he set his sights on Caroline, she knew she was out of her league and about to bed down with the real boss.

First book I’ve read by Charlene Sands and it was excellent. I will defiantly be reading this again later down the road.

Sam Beaumont is a multi-millionaire and the CEO of his family’s company, but after a tragic accident almost two years ago that took his daughter and ex-wife’s life he has been running from his self, his past and the company that in his mind caused him to lose them. He’d wanted his dad’s respect and love instead he lost what he had loved so much.

Sam went to Hope Well’s thinking it would be just another place in a long line on the drifter’s path he was on, but when he meet Caroline Portman that changed fast.

Caroline needed help fixing up her family stables after her ex-husband nearly ran it into the ground. She hires Sam and they say strictly business, but that never works out in my opinion. She’s falling hard and fast for Sam who has told her he will help her with the renovations, but will be gone in a month’s time.

She knows so little about him, but when he does open up a little about his past its not what she’d expected at all. Just like his brother she tries to tell him the accident wasn’t his fault. They don’t really talk about it again until his brother, Wade shows up with some bad news, which helps Sam decide what to do with his life after some great advice.

I loved this book and read it in one sitting. This was a fast, hot, sexy read and the characters had depth that I could connect with. It just wasn’t just sex and some two bit story line. It had heart and had me teary eyed at parts.

The ending was perfect and I want to read Wade’s story now, but I’ll have to find it first.
