This book's greatest strength is its "down to business, no fluff, make it happen" approach. It is very clear and straightforward as well as a quick and comprehensive read. There are several pages of charts to make referencing the ideas presented in the book effortless. My biggest complaint would be the lack of clear examples. Some school case studies would add so much to the book in making the principles applicable to real life solutions. This probably wasn't the intent of Bernhardt's writing the book, but I think it would have made the book that much more compelling for me as a school leader.

Key highlights include a step-by-step guide to Continuous Improvement, estimates for how long each component may take, reflection questions and implementation suggestions, and an emphasis on shared leadership and transparency of purpose as teachers and administrators work together to improve student learning and growth.
