As with other titles in the “Enchantment of the World” series, this one on Liberia does not disappoint. It is filled with facts and information about this troubled western African nation. Despite its violent history and lack of basic infrastructure, Liberia’s citizens are making strides to rebuild its cities and advance their culture. Liberian government/politics, economy, family life, flora and fauna and geographical features are all featured in individual chapters. Numerous photo-illustrations, drawings, charts and maps add visual appeal and extend readers’ understanding. Back matter includes a timeline, Fast Facts spreads, bibliography, publisher’s website and index. This visually appealing series is a must for any library. It provides an abundance of information for reports and projects.
