For Revolutionary War aficionados, Revenge at Kings Mountain: Crisis in Conscience is a must read. It is written as a novel, but retains the history of the battle accurately. The story of Kings Mountain is told from both the British and Patriot perspective from the leaders and the soldiers. The author referred to the Revolutionary War as a civil war which he then showed through his characters the divisions in families, neighborhoods, and states. In some cases, Patriot brothers were fighting their Loyalist brothers or neighbors were on both sides of the battle.

Due to the author's epilogue in which he cites the British and Rebel main characters history after the war, my interest in learning more about this battle has been tweaked and I will be seeking other books on this battle.
