This book deals with the reality of our life after death, not spirit communication, but actual visits with all sensory perception in tact using Out-of-Body travel. Jurgen Ziewe has spent over forty years refining his OBE skills via a lifelong practice of deep meditation. The author projects his consciousness into parallel dimensions and non-physical reality systems whilst retaining full waking awareness throughout. He probes into the infinite vistas of human consciousness and brings back detailed accounts of his journeys and observations. The reports gathered followed a strict research protocol, where the author interviewed dead people and visited the higher dimensional realities, from the darkest places to the most illuminated regions of cosmic consciousness and realms which are traditionally referred to as ‘Heaven’. These are lively, first-hand accounts providing a narrative which is destined to revolutionize old concepts and perspectives.
Jurgen Ziewe is one of our leaders in the exploration of the Astral planes. His book is a fantastic collection of his experiences. This book is a nice read for everyone, but if you are into out-of-body experiences or lucid dreaming, it is a must read. I am a lucid dreamer myself, and I had some OBEs too. This book made some of my own experiences more understandable and it inspires me to go and explore more with even more passion.
The author summarizes his impressions and findings from 30-odd years of profound meditative experiences and out-of-body excursions. The author is a graphic designer, not a writer, and it appears that the book was not professionally edited, but his experiences have been amazing and profound, and he has done the world a great service in publishing them.
Mr. Ziewe challenges other authorities, such as the Theosophists, who claim to have discovered the fine structure of the nonphysical realms. His own travels suggest that those realms are far too vast and complex to be systematized in any simple way. The productivity and creativity of the nonphysical worlds are infinite.
His basic message is that if we want to experience the best of those nonphysical worlds, which we already inhabit and which we will inhabit full time after death, then we need to pay careful attention to each moment of our physical lives, for here we are crafting the experience that awaits us. He speaks with the voice of authority, and for this reader his message struck home.
Loved the beginning to middle of this book when it was more about his journal entries. If it had kept this style up throughout, this would have been a five-star for me.
However, my interest started to lag somewhere after the midpoint when he stopped interacting as much with the people he met out of body. Don't get me wrong, Jurgen Ziewe is great with describing the beautiful vistas he witnessed, but I grew restless with all the beautiful setting descriptions and wanted him to ask more questions of the people he met on the other side.
I also am always bummed when authors slam the ego as if it were some toxic thing. It is a necessary psychological attribute we need to survive in physical reality. Sure, being ruled by it is unhealthy and can lead to imbalances. However, having NO ego is just as unhealthy. One can have a healthy working ego and be both "enlightened" and unconditionally loving.
All this said, I got a lot from the reading and I do think Ziewe has honorable intentions. I'll round my review up to a 4.
Vistas of Infinity by Jurgen Ziewe is a profound and visionary journey into the afterlife, based on his firsthand out-of-body experiences. Drawing from decades of deep meditation, Ziewe explores realms both dark and luminous, revealing that our post-death reality is shaped by the life we lead. With vivid accounts and deep spiritual insight, he emphasizes that love, integrity, and inner awareness—not religious belief—determine our path beyond death. A captivating continuation of his earlier works, this book offers both inspiration and a challenge to live more consciously. Read my full review here: soulfulbooks.home.blog
This book was mind blowing. I had seen him interviewed on a podcast and was intrigued. He has had many out of body experiences which he tries to explain, but finds words are inadequate. There was a lot I didn’t understand, but found it fascinating.
Jurgen's OBE experiences are truly incredible. I might be skeptical of them if someone else reported them, but not of Jurgen. There is a truthfulness about the man that is unmistakable. By far, my favorite account in this book is of the lost soul (waiter) who gets the chance to redeem himself through service. His story is incredibly moving. The last half of this book focuses more on spiritual insights than OBE's. But Jurgen has a unique perspective into the soul due to his OBE's. I feel like he has been given these experiences to help humanity gain a better understanding of what it means to be a soul.
Wow. The best book by far on life without the body. Whether you want to wait for physical death, or begin travelling now, there is a universe of incredible experiences ahead. The author offers tours with a difference - luxury travel at its best. His illustrations are stunning also.
