A fascinating portrait of a very eccentric but highly successful football personality. Both as a player and coach. I loved all the opinions of Jim: his background, childhood, love of sports, and delving into what makes him such a fierce competitor. This was not written to win anything other than attention and praise from diehard Michigan fans and Jim Harbaugh devotees. Loved it. I'm both of those

It's a book of stories about Jim Harbaugh. What more needs to be said? Six out of five stars.

Coming off last night's Orange Bowl loss I finished this book. It probably is one only for "true blue" Michigan "slap pies" (I didn't go to the school) but it is unmistakeable that there is something to like about Jim Harbaugh and I hope for more success for him at U of M. That being said there is a lot "problems" with this book--Wolfe even seems apologetic about one of the most glaring difficulties with his book in the introduction-- it is an oral history essentially and a lot of the same stories are repeated and a lot of the ramblings from the "friends of Jim" lack coherence (and Wolfe doesn't really help matters when he interjects interesting albeit esoteric footnotes with seemingly irrelevant information in the context of these narratives).

It was an interesting read and hopefully Jim will get that "mythical National Championship" (as Bo would say) for the Wolverines some day. Go Blue!!!

Gloriously confined to my room with a cold while my husband manages the children. (Guilty, but happy, sigh.) I'm currently in the middle of 6 books. D'oh! Time to finish them up or admit defeat...

Only about 1/10 of the way into this short book. I love the positive tone. Too many memoirs are hatchet jobs or focused on "honesty" - reporting every bad thing the person has done in an attempt the "humanize" them. This book is just nice. It leaves me feeling good about life.

Interesting background information on the new Wolverine coach from people who knew (and liked) him at various points in his life.

Go blue!
