I read this book after hearing the author speak at a convention, and having the chance to meet with her after her presentation. She's a great speaker, and I definitely recommend listening to her if you have the chance. I enjoyed the book. However, it was a bit disjointed. I think it would have flowed much better if written chronologically, with insights as to how the occurrences affected her life at each juncture, as opposed to just a collections of stories that jump around through various points in her life. That said, the stories are interesting and fun to read, regardless of whether or not you fully believe the events happened. I will say, I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed the book quite as much if I hadn't heard her speak first. It's written in a very simple style, and may not have the same effect if you can't inject what you know of her speech patterns and personality into it.

I wrote it and I love it! It tells honest, true life paranormal experiences over a 42 year period of time, that start when I turned 12. When I sat down to have breakfast with my editor, who is a professor of LA, looked at me and said, "You did it!" I looked at her and said, "I did what?" She said, "You did what I have tried to teach all these years. You created a hook, not just in the beginning but all the way through. I couldn't put it down, I needed to keep reading, even when I was scared to read more." I had goose bumps all over and tears in my eyes.

Like I told her; I never went in search of the dead but they came in search of me...

I met the author in Houghton Lake. She is a great story teller. I enjoyed listening to her speak for over an hour. The stories in her book are good, but listening to her in person is amazing.
