A Snapshot of High Street Bridlington

High Street is in Bridlington Old Town and before the emergence of Bridlington Quay had a thriving business community. The purpose of this book is to document the yards behind the properties in the High Street and to give the reader a flavour of the time. Many of the houses and cottages have since been demolished although today three quarters of the buildings on this street are listed. Local directories, censuses and photographs have been used for the period from c1891 to c1918.
