It is often said that there is no faster path to change than great pain, and Jack Burton has no small share when it comes to his own. Driven by frustration and failure, a chance meeting with an unlikely mentor propels Jack toward three extraordinary people that plant the seeds of discovery he must now nurture and grow to find the remedy to his misfortune. Like all great endeavors, the path is unexpected, and Jack soon finds himself body and soul deep into the mystery of personal philosophy and how it is inextricably woven into the fabric of success for all.

With this being the second book that I read of Mr. Brubaker, I was somewhat cynically expecting similar leadership concepts listed out in a different way. Instead, the author took me on a narrative ride that immediately had me caught between the pages that I couldn’t stop turning. As a public-speaking trainer, I always teach the importance of knowing the audience and relating stories that can easily be remembered and applied. I was enthralled with the easy transitions between chapters and concepts. The emphasis throughout the book about how sports translate into business hit home. My love for business and sports were combined to make an enjoyable and easy read that will stick with me for a long time. I was fortunate to get a signed copy from the author. The inscription read, “Be a seed planter!” Not knowing what is was, I found myself assessing my own commitments and legacy throughout the book and found the power of sharing even more with others. - Thomas B Dowd III, author of “The Transformation of a Doubting Thomas: Growing from a Cynic to a Professional in the Corporate World” and “From Fear to Success: A Practical Public-speaking Guide”
"Don't be a seed counter, be a seed planter." This was a huge theme I received from the book. The story is about Jack who coaches Lacrosse for Coach Randall. The lessons he learns along the way prepare Jack for the art of becoming a coach. Its not the science, it's often the art...Like in one scene where coach recites the famous "Man in the arena" quote, or the reference to how Bamboo grows. I love the style of this book and the lessons it teaches.
