A burning vision and burden for establishing a Wesleyan Methodist Church in Brookings, South Dakota prompted Rev. John Franklin "J. F." Simpson to contact two local families who joined him in prayerful action in the year 1950. But the roots of what is now GracePoint Wesleyan Church got started much earlier, in 1879, as a pioneering Wesleyan spirit began gathering in private homes in the Bushnell area.
