The sanctity of womanhood is one of the crowning components of the Lord’s plan for His children. As such, women are under constant attack from the adversary. In those moments that you feel your own light dimming, it’s more important than ever to hold tightly to a recognition of your boundless divinity. In Women of Light, beloved speaker and author Jack Christianson shares moving stories and quotes, accompanied by stirring imagery from well-known Latter-day Saint women artists, that highlight and honor the special roles of women. By more fully accepting the Lord’s light into your own life, you will bolster your ability to harness that light to illuminate the path for yourself and those around you.
This book was a gift to me from a stranger. He gave me three books and this was the first. It was a beautiful read about womanhood and how being a woman is a special, sacred job. It was a wonderful tribute and I'm so grateful he listened to the prompting.
A meaningful message and beautiful illustrations in this book about the divinity of women. Loved the quotes.
“One cannot forget mother and remember God. One cannot remember mother and forget God. Why? Because these two sacred persons, God and mother, partners in creation, in love, in sacrifice, in service, are as one.” - President Thomas S. Monson
He calls us the children of light. Sisters, we need women of light who can light the way, show the way, and bless the way for those who are struggling to find their way to safe harbors, for those who are searching for happiness and peace in their life.
“If our lives and our faith are centered on Jesus Christ and his restored gospel, nothing can ever go wrong permanently. On the other hand, if our lives are not centered on the Savior and his teachings, no other success can ever be permanently right.” - President Howard W. Hunter
“Home should be be an anchor, a port in a storm, a refuge, a happy place in which to dwell, a place where we are loved and where we can love.” - Elder Marvin J. Ashton
“The Lord doesn’t do things by accident. God has a purpose to all he is doing with you. He accepts our efforts day by day. When we fail or make mistakes, Jesus’s arms are stretched out still and He will help us try again.” - Sister Sharon Eubank
You don’t have to be famous or rich, hold a high office or have great influence in the world to build the kingdom of God. You simply need to build people. You lift them. You strengthen them. You become the lighthouse on the shore for them.
“I don’t want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, with my hair expertly coifed and with long, perfectly manicured nails. I want to drive up to the pearly gates in a station wagon that has Boy Scout equipment in the back seat. I want there to be grass stains on my shoes from mowing Mrs. Schneck’s lawn. I want there to be a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor’s children I want there to be dirt under my fingernails from helping 4-Hers plant a garden. I want there to be children’s sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want God to know that I was really here and that I really lived.” -Nadine Miner Hobby
Will God really know that you were her and that you really lived because of how you treated others—because of how you let your light shine?
“For though some would portray us as dowdy and dominated rather than the dynamic, radiant women that we are, no woman is more persuasive, no woman has greater influence for good, no woman is a more vibrant instrument in the hands of the Lord than a woman of God who is thrilled to be who she is.” - Sister Sheri Dew
“Look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what its beacon light can rescue. It calls, ‘This way to safety; this way to home.’ The lighthouse of the Lord sends forth signals readily recognized and never failing.” - President Thomas S. Monson
Women of Light by Jack R Christianson is a showstopper. I cannot recommend this book enough!

This book is not only a feast for the eyes and mind…it is a feast for the soul.
I loved the easy way it read, the impactful reminders of why women are divine and needed, the role we as women need to protect and sanctify as well as the layout of beautiful quotes and the most amazing artwork I have ever seen.
My heart is so full after reading this book🥹🫶🏼
Mother’s Day shopping is made easy with this book, my friends! This is a new favorite for me and one I will be gifting to my daughter to keep on her shelf to have for always, and other women who have made a huge impact in my life. (Thank you for your examples of shining light☀️)
Thank you @covenantcommunications for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
I enjoy the audiobooks by Jack R. Christianson. They are like a fireside where he explores topics of doctrine with an audience. This presentation explains that the best creation of God is women and they are partners with Christ in salvation.
I was given this booklet at church on Mother's Day. The author uses the analogy of lighthouses to teach us that women can be a light to the world to bring souls to Christ. It was very nice and a perfect gift for the women in our ward today.
I think I would have enjoyed this more had I read it. He said some things that I found very poignant about women. I would sure like to find a copy to read so that I can discover some things that I didn't "hear."
