I didn't too much care for this story at all. This is the story of Samantha (Sam) and Logan. Sam is on a trip with her friend to let her hair loose. She is sort of uptight and needs to do something new in her life. She has been hurt by last relationships, so she has a skewed view of love. She is damaged goods. She would rather be alone because that meant she was safe. However, she has caught the attention of the owner of the resort they are staying at, Logan Frost. Sam is not the usual woman he goes for, but it's her appearance of being unsullied and untouched is what attracts him to her. He is in a mission for her to trust him and show her the truth about herself. "Something about this woman made him want to possess her, to make her see her value, and guard it any cost."
This book didn't appeal to me. It was written to where it flowed, but it missed key components to me. To me Sam was damaged goods so how could she appear unsullied or untouched. Her appearance looked as she had a hard exterior and she was protecting herself from something. I also didn't believe the reason Logan was attracted to her. I think she was a challenge for him. Does he pursue her because she looked repressed and desperate? Most men like a woman with a soft and delicate exterior. This reasoning for the attraction confused me. Logan knew Sam was an unsuitable woman but still went after her.
Another unbelievable factor was that Sam trusted him too quickly. He did nothing to earn her trust throughout the story. He gave her the orgasm of her life, but that doesn't constitute trust. And then he buys her gifts street knowing her a couple of hours. I would have felt like a whore, no matter if I was a good our bad girl.
I didn't see Logan as a dominant. So the "yes, sir" responses came too easily in the story. He gave Sam no expectations of what he wanted. This is not believable. He came off more like a rapist and bully. After she said no he would tell her she couldn't walk away until she leaves the resort. He would block her from getting away and force the relationship on her. I just didn't see the attraction. The characters didn't appeal to me and neither did the storyline. I wouldn't recommend this installment. Not looking forward to what happens next.
