101 Questions & Answers on the Prophets of Israel

Rate this book
Like the other volumes in the 101 Questions & Answers series, this book is a useful companion to that portion of the Bible on prophets and prophecy. It explores commonly asked questions to assist laypeople, ministers, and students with the world and words of the prophets of ancient Israel. There are several entries for the major prophets that lead readers through the prophet’s message, methods of delivery, and historical setting. And for the smaller prophetic books there are brief summaries of their basic themes. Rounding out the collection are questions on different types of prophecy, including ecstatic and apocalyptic. Helpful charts scattered throughout the text provide quick overviews of themes or point to comparisons between the prophets. Readers, whether engaged in individual Bible reading or group Bible study, as well as students in introductory college Bible or Prophets courses, will quickly gain a basic understanding of the biblical world and the role of the prophets from this concise, easy-to-read text. †

This "did not finish" is just because it was a textbook and I didn't really feel like going through it all that much more than I had to.

This is interesting, but I'm sorry, there's a huge difference between 1 Kings 5 and 2 Kings 5...when your typo is in your reference, maybe you should have edited better.

I don't know. This is good if you're looking for a bit of commentary on the Bible, but really, some of those citations are OFF.
