Originally a collection of sketches released in 1996, Iguana Bay sold out so quickly it has since become almost mythical. This was the first time that Claire Wending showed her work studies, her personal research, and even her doubts. Time passed, and although the original edition has become more difficult to find than ever, Iguana Bay has become essential for all lovers of illustration.

Seven years later: for each essay, each croquis, each sketch from the original edition, Claire chose to present revised and corrected versions, penciled, inked or with pastels. From the original collection to the current edition, the viewer sees the graphic evolution of a liberated illustrator.

One of the only artists' sketchbooks I return to over and over again for inspiration. Wendling is a marvel...I treasure this signed copy....(Originally read in 2007, re-visited many, many times).
