Mission Handbook: North American Protestant Ministries Overseas: Twentieth Anniversary

Rate this book
When MARC first assumed sole responsibility for the publication of a handbook to provide information about the North American missionary effort, there were 411 agencies supporting 35,800 North American Protestant personnel overseas. Those were 1968 statistics. This new edition, based largely on 1984 information, shows funds reported for overseas ministries for the first time in excess of one billion dollars in a single year. 764 agencies support 67,200 overseas representatives. Based on these figures, Protestant mission sending from the United States and Canada seem to be alive and well. The wide-ranging and insightful essay by Robert T. Coote will give food for thought for persons merely interested in the mission of the Church, and for sophisticated missiologists. He displays wisdom accrued from long-term thought and acquaintance with the mission of the Church in its human forms.
