This is the story of the founding and growth of the Honda Company. The two founders were unlike other Japanese entrepreneurs who were governed by the Japanese government's industrial policies. After starting a successful motorcycle company, the founders disregarded the government's strong urging not to enter the automobile market. The resulting automobile company has grown to be the second most profitable car company in Japan, and the producer of one of the periodically best-selling cars in the US, the Honda Accord.
