An obsessive book editor quits his New York publishing job and moves to Frankfurt, Germany to live with his enigmatic girlfriend, a basenji and an unfinished manuscript of mysterious provenence. The story moves then to the fictional Caribbean island of South Roseau, where our hero gets ensnarled with an exotic tropical murder, a dubious plot for property development and a variety of local island characters.
