Florence and Louis Slobodkin are quickly adding themselves to my favorite children author's list. It's hard to resist the charming look and feel this duo gives to their books!

Mr. Dilly is the Bravest and Most Courageous Lion Tamer. He wasn't at first though. And it all happened quite by accident too. A friend sent him a lion cub in the post one day. Mr. Dilly, not quite sure just what to do with a lion cub, named him Willy, and did nothing. Except feed him and give him water of course.

And as it would happen, a Circus Man came to the house, saw Willy ... and Mr. Dilly's and Willy's lives were changed forever. Including their names.

A sweet story with a few fun twists!

In which small children learn about the illegal trade in exotic pets, trademark infringement, and fraud while being fed pro-circus propaganda. Also, there's a clown. As for "Mr Dilly's Willy" - I refuse to go there.
