This book was so boring and aggressive that I don't think I can write an effective review; but for the sake of saving someone from wasting their time deciphering the biased remarks I will type through the pain. Anything for my fans. Hold your applause. I will accept my good Samaritan award later.

The Case of Roe v. Wade was a book solely about the supreme's court decision to legalize abortion, it also describes the events that had to take place in order for this to happen. To begin, the author, Leonard A. Stevens, put an opinionated statement in the introductory paragraph. It stated that it was the most historic decision the supreme court has ever made. How about, no. I could think about a hundred other decisions that were more historic and influential than this (maybe not a hundred but you get the point). I am not by any means saying that I do not think this decision was not historic, so don't you twist my words you yellow journalist!

The overall book became repetitive and drawn out. I mean, I get it, they made the decision. People tried to overturn the decision. People went on strike, yadda yadda yadda. Maybe if the topic was not so run down and cliche, I would care about it more. Trust me I have a heart, its beating, and I can feel emotions. But in today's society this is such a controversial topic that I do not want to have an opinion on it. With that being said, I am sure someone who is passionate about this subject, topic, issue, WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT, would enjoy this book. It does have some good facts if you sort through the absolute garbage maybe you can find them. I do not recommend this book to anyone who just wants to learn because I will warn you as a reader you will feel attacked. They should put a viewer discretion is advised sticker on the front because at times I felt like I was being shouted at.

In other words, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This book was a good introduction to the case. I'm sure more has happened since it was written, so I'm interested in reading more about the topic.

I picked up this book to gain an overall understanding of the Roe v. Wade case, and I was very satisfied. I learned more about the case, the related cases that preceded and followed it, and the general history of contraception and abortion rights than I had expected. It is a fairly easy read, but I did have to look up a few legal terms along the way. Because it was written in 1996, I did have to supplement with some more recent sources to learn about current conditions surrounding this case and related issues. But it seems like a pretty thorough explanation of how things stood up to that point.
