I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The expected publication date is May 10th, 2016.
First random thought - it says this story is 165 pages on Goodreads. I can not validate as I was reading it on my kindle however I am pretty sure it was longer than that. If not, my reading pace has significantly decreased. I'm pretty sure it is just not accurate.
I opened this book with knowing really what it was about and therefore went in without any expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. If this book was a song, it would definitely be a mash-up the way that multiple genres seem to co-exist in this story. Was it a ghost story? A mystery/thriller? Contemporary romance? A little bit of all which could make this story appealing to a large market.
Aside from Paige doing all the obvious wrong things (and stereotypical) in the face of danger, she was a strong character who could not be pushed around. Liam had a sense of mystery which captured me from the start.
I had figured out most of the plot twists of this story however what I did not figure out was how it all tied together. I was glad that I was kept guessing about some aspects.
Altogether this was a fast paced story that offered a little bit of everything which was a little refreshing. The fact that it was not completely commited to one genre kept my attention. I realized at the end that this is pary of a stand alone series so I may have to go pick up the other book! Just be warned, I stand by my position that this story is longer than advertised.

Review:
I have to say this one kept me guessing as to what was going on for quite awhile. At first I was not sure what this book was a supernatural tale, a romance or a suspense, but as I read on it became clearer. I thought the Author did a great job of misdirecting me as a reader to keep the mystery going. I did not know who Paige should be trusting or who the person was stalking her. I knew Liam had some agenda and even though I liked him I did not want to for Paige's sake. Paige was great, I really liked that she was strong and did not let others push her around or tell her what to do, sometimes to her own determent...lol All the secondary characters were great too and added to the mystery and weird feeling the town gave off. The ghosts in the story added a spooky element to an already weird feeling the town and the people were giving off. I liked the romance between these two, they both need comfort, but they both don't want to need the other also. This is part of a series, though from what I can tell they really don't seem to connect. I have not read the first book, but this is a stand alone title. I would definitely like to pick the other book in this series and read it.

This was a very good book. The suspense kept you on the edge of your seat while the pages kept turning. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. The ending was "Wow! Never saw that coming!". The love and suspense in this story made for a very good book. The characters and story line were well developed.
Paige is from Alcina Cove but left when very young with her mother. Now that Paige finds herself orphaned sixteen years later, she returns to Alcina Cove for answers. Why did her and her mother leave so many years ago? What happened to her father?
I very much enjoyed this book. This was one of the best suspense romance novels I have read in a while. I look forward to reading more of Celia Ashley's work!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book! This was the first book I've read by Celia Ashley and I couldn't wait to dive in.
Paige Waters was torn from her hometown and her father as a child. Sixteen years later, Paige returns to Alcina Cove (love that name) to get some answers to the stories she's been fed about this town. She hopes to get these answers from the man who lives in her childhood home. Yea, well...best laid plans and all that.
Liam is a fisherman who turned into a writer. He has secrets in his life and some are deep within the stories/answers that Paige is looking for. Will he risk his future with Paige when he learns there's an even greater danger?
There was lots of mystery in this book! It was very well written and had me on the edge of my seat!
well written suspenseful romance that will keep you guessing. Liam and Paige make an interesting couple and one you will find yourself rooting for. You will like this if you like romances with a touch of mystery, secrets, and lies. The setting adds to the atmosphere. THanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
One of the best suspenseful romance novels I've read in a very long time! Loved Liam and Paige's relationship and how they interact with one another. The story was entertaining from start to finish, keeping you guessing along the way. Highly recommend!!
