Kim Jacobs wants it all—a career in a big city, a husband and a family, but a tryst two months ago with one of Hollywood’s biggest stars leaves her pregnant. Knowing Leo doesn’t want kids or a wife, Kim decides to make her own happily-ever-after with the help of a recent inheritance. All that’s left is to tell the man and move on.

Suddenly Leo not only has to save his career, he has to find out who’s trying to murder the lady who is stealing his heart. Dee J. was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. After graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles and did what most people do in L.A. Tried to make it in show biz. She did okay. Got enough acting work to pay the rent and keep the S.A.G. card. (Screen Actors Guild in case anyone is wondering.) She also worked as a Dialogue Coach in sitcoms. (That's code for acting coach and also means she helped the actors learn their lines.)

Writing came as a fluke. After blowing out several ligaments in her foot – from a beautiful backhand gone wrong on the tennis court – and a very intense dream (she apparently couldn’t stop talking about) her husband said, “Just write it down.” Prophetic words! With a lot of time on her hands since she was laid up, she took it to heart. Three weeks and fourteen hours a day later, she had a 450 page handwritten novel on her hands.

And so it began.

She is lucky to be married to the love of her life and they have one beautiful daughter who was, and continues to be, perfect so she saw no reason for others!

She likes kick-ass heroines and big stories. She likes to read them and she likes to write them. She likes romance, adventure, a little mystery and happy endings. Romance is the perfect genre for her.

Some of her favorite authors are Judith McNaught, Suzanne Brockmann and Linda Howard, just to give you the top of the list. (If you haven’t read these ladies, you’re missing out.)

She wishes she cooked and gardened and did all those other creative things, but she doesn’t. She loves to read and loves to cheer her kid on in soccer or any other sport that catches her fancy. She's a big dog lover, with no offense to cats other than their fur just about kills her.

That’s it in a nutshell. Hope you enjoy one of her adventures as much as she enjoyed writing it!

God, he loved her like this. Out of control. He loved her begging for him. Loved to see this businesswoman let her hair down and give it up to him.

Always Dangerous was my first book by Dee J. Adams and it's safe to say after finishing, that it certainly won't be my last. I love a steamy romantic suspense, and Adrenaline Highs delivers on that end flawlessly. Now you're probably thinking to yourself, but Lana, this is book 6 in the series and you're starting with this book. And to you, my OCD friend, I say, I like to live dangerously.

Right then.

What I appreciated about this book and is how effortlessly the author brings a new reader into the fold without being repetitive or overly detailed with what I'm assuming happened in the previous books. This truly allowed me to enjoy the story for what it was without ever feeling like I'm missing details or backstory. Though part of the story takes place in Dangerous Race, there's just enough detail given to bring you up to date and immediately immerse you into what's taking place in Always Dangerous.

Leo Frost and Kim Jacobs shared one sizzling night together in a time when Leo lost everything. Now he's on his way to working his way back to where he began, but their night together left quite a souvenir. When her aunt passes away and leaves her millions in an inheritance, Kim is determined to make her own happily ever after, whether Leo shares that with her or not.

The last things on Leo's agenda now are kids, and for a deeper reason than he lets on. He lost almost everything thanks to his embezzling accountant and now he's working to pick all the pieces back up. To say that Kim catches him off guard with her surprise news is an understatement and he makes no secret about how he feels about it. But when her life is threatened, it puts all his protective instincts to the front and he knows that he'll do anything to protect her and their unborn child.

Knowing the identity of the villain for pretty much the entire book was quite a change of pace for me. I can't say if it was refreshing or the suspense part lost a little of it's luster because of it. I think as a reader, I prefer the mystery and the intrigue of trying to figure out who the bad guy is, that knowing it did fizzle things just a little for me. Having said that, the book was not even a little boring. It was quick paced and sexy and packed with quite a bit of action.

I also loved the direction the author took towards the end of the story. While I was an emotional mess reading it, I appreciated what she did with that particular twist and it only served to make the ending that much better.

Miss Adams has a new fan in me after this, and I'm definitely planning on going back and reading all the previous titles in this series. If the final book is anything to go by, I've been missing out.

Here's a series that I think should be getting more attention. This is the end of the Adrenaline Highs series and as the previous books in the series, you can expect some suspense mixed in with some Hollywood fun. ALWAYS DANGEROUS features the leading man in the DANGEROUS RACE film, Leo Frost. Leo is a Hollywood superstar, and most people think of him as a playboy with a "don't care" attitude. He had a quick fling with Kim Jacobs months back after she helped him through his financial crisis. Since then, he hasn't stopped thinking about her. Even though she doesn't even live in California.

Kim on the other hand has been going through a lot in her family life. One of her very few relatives, her aunt, passed away, and left her not only almost without family (only her cousin still lives) but a millionaire. In the midst of dealing with that and how it will impact her life going forward she also realizes she's pregnant with Leo's child. Secret baby lovers rejoice!

Of course, as is to be expected, there is an element of suspense. Someone is trying to kill Kim after she goes to California to tell Leo the news. Dee J. Adams does a great job at mixing just the right amount of excitement in with the romance and the pace of the developing relationship between Kim and Leo was perfect. They're sexy together and have great chemistry. Even considering they had history starting out, you get a full picture.

The issues Leo had with commitment and having kids were understandable and I was glad to see common sense won out without too much angst and drama for him. I had the bad guy pegged from the very beginning so the mystery of who could be doing this is not necessarily the reason why I enjoy this, it's more the execution which is thoroughly entertaining!

Now that this series is done, I'll be looking out to see what Dee J. Adams has in store next.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This author is new to me. After reading Always Dangerous this will definitely not be the only book.

Kim is a strong willed woman who has a past of hooking up with men based upon their sizable wallets. She wanted all the trappings and wrappings of the rich & famous. After some soul searching she decided that part of her life was over and she focused on her career. She didn't need anything other than her best friend Chelsea, ans the only two family members she has left. Her Aunt Carolyn dies and a mind blowing revelation is revealed after meeting the attorney. That is just the start of her momentous day. As casual hook-up with Leo Frost 2 months prior has left more than just memories & questions.

Leo Frost is a famous young leading actor who happens to be drop dead gorgeous. After his accountant was arrested and revealed to have siphoned off Leo's millions has had to sell everything he holds dear. His houses, his properties, memorabilia, his favorite posters, & even his Porsche Stella. Did I mention he is also out of work? No leads, no jobs, no money coming in. He can barely scrape enough by to pay the one thing he will pay for no matter what.

Kim still advises Leo via email. They have been communicating every since she left LAX. Neither of these hard heads admit they have anything other than a strong friendship. Hmmm really! They need each other more than they realize.

The characters are so well developed that I can visualize them ride down to the last smirk. The story line is so well written even though this is the last book in a series, I didn't need to read the other books to understand what's happened to these two prior. I highly recommend you read this book. It's an emotional roller coaster ride that I did not want to get off.

Leo Frost wins our hearts by LITERALLY saving the cat as this story opens. And Kim Jacobs is sharp, gorgeous, a good friend, and has managed to be at both ends of the "pick a great/terrible relative" lottery. As well as pregnant by Leo who doesn't want her to have the baby.

Disclaimer; I received a free copy of this novel from the author in return for an honest review.

Romantic suspense isn't really my "thing," but this story moves so fast and the characters are so compelling that I really enjoyed it. In fact, while it took me some time to crack the cover, once I started reading I just kept going. It also took some twists and turns I wasn't expecting. I couldn't help picturing Owen Wilson as the douchey cousin, Wilson (deliberate author choice?) which gave me the sads, but even there, there were some surprises. Stella the cat is a charmer, and since it's a romance, expect a satisfying Happily Ever After.

so I just finished this incredible book. Put the book dawn at 3am because I couldn't see the words any more due to the tears streaming down my face, but picked it back up at 6am and finished it. I'm still grinning from ear to ear, and as per usual my nails are a little shorter after reading one of Dee J's books. God woman you really know how to stress a person out. I LOVE Leo! It was great to get to spend time with him again. That was the perfect ending to the Adrenaline High series. Of coarse I want more but you didn't leave me needing more, and I thank you for that. It was an honor to get to read this book before its release and all I can say is you NAILED it!!!

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Kim is an independent, successful woman. I liked that she didn't need a hero to fix everything for her. Leo is down on his luck, but he's determined to work hard for what he wants. I liked that attribute in his character as well.

I have not read the rest of this series, but after reading this one, I intend to do so. I enjoyed the story and I enjoyed the writing style. I liked having the point of view from Kim, Leo, and Wilson. Sometimes it's nice to not have to make assumptions as to what the characters are thinking.

I recommend this book!

Story starts out with Kim Jacobs and her cousin Wilson hearing their aunts will where Kim gets multi-millions and Wilson because of his gambling gets the aunts house and furniture and goes from there. Kim finds out she is pregnant with Leo Frost's baby, he is a Hollywood superstar who has lost everything and not because of something he has done. Kim goes to tell Leo and they move in together, but someone is trying to kill Kim ! Who is it and can Leo keep her safe? Always Dangerous starts with Leo Frost, a famous Hollywood actor, hitting pit bottom. Leo's accountant has embezzled his money and Leo has made a mistake of using his own money to write, produce, and direct his movie. The only way for him to save his career is to finish the film.

Kim Jacobs has learned that she inherited $10 million from her late grandmother. Her cousin Wilson was not too pleased with the reading of the Will. With his gamble debt, Wilson decided that if he Kim wasn't around, he should be able to inherit what is due to him.

After Kim has left Arizona, she discovered that she is pregnant with Leo Frost's child from their short term affair. The right thing to do was to let Leo Frost knows that she is having his baby and that he doesn't need to be involve in the child's life.

With two attempts on Kim's life, Leo was there to save Kim. The more times that Leo spent with Kim, the more he realized that Kim is what he needs in his life. For Kim to accept him, Leo also need to tell her of his sister that the media doesn't know about. The more times that Kim spent with Leo, the more heartbroken she will be when it is time to leave Leo.

What I like about this book is that Leo is trying to breathe in new life to his career. He has downsized everything he owns after taking a setback with his finances and a risky, high return venture of producing his own movie. Because of how he was brought up, Leo is very responsible in taking care of his mental disabled sister. He is concern about his offspring inheriting the gene that makes his sister handicapped. When Kim's life was endangered, he rescued Kim and realized that she and their baby are important to him.

Kim may be intelligent but she doesn't see the dangers that is coming from her cousin Wilson. Even when she shared Leo's secret with Wilson and when that secret has became public, she failed to put two and two together. She was giving Wilson so many chances that she ignored the warning signs that Wilson is dangerous to be around with.

The readers will know who the antagonist is throughout this story. The author still kept the story fresh and readers entertained by allowing Leo and Kim to work out their career and life differences. The only thing that the readers won't know is how the story will end. This book is an enjoyable read.

I was given this book by the author in exchange of an honest review. I was not compensated or influence in any way for writing this review.

It was my own fault for not realizing this was #6 in a series when I started this book. However, the author did a fabulous job of bringing readers that are new to the series up to speed without obviously re-hashing previous books. Leo and Kim have quite the relationship with many sparks that ignite the way. Kim seems to frequently forget though about how she is being targeted by someone and her desire for independence puts her in danger a few times. Leo struggles opening up to Kim but eventually learns to communicate which brings them closer. This is definitely a story about overcoming one's stubbornness for the greater good. Loved the ending of the story, loved the characters, and I even loved the villain.

This was a great read, full of love & suspense. The main characters were such interesting people & both very independent so it was exciting to watch how their love grew & how they both learned to bend a bit for the other. It was also cool how the reader knew who the bad guy was.... I felt like yelling out loud at Kim to figure it out already but she just kept giving her cousin (the bad guy) chance after chance.

This was the 6th book in the Adrenaline Highs series but can be read as a stand alone. I will be catching up with the other 5 now though.
