Visited the Big Thicket a few years ago where I got this book.

Some stories were really great to read, while others I lost interest (for me particularly the hunting ones, of which there were a few in the middle of the book).

Overall a nice look at how life was in the Thicket from many peoples’ stories and perspectives.
