He wasn’t always my stepbrother.

Our love started the summer before my senior year of high school when I literally bumped into a smart, witty, and incredibly gorgeous boy named Marcus. We spent every waking moment together that summer, fell deeply in love, and planned to travel the world together.

If only things were that easy...

Really good start to the series

Marcus and Parker are in love and look forward to a bright future, that's before they find out that their parents are marrying. Parkers mother and Marcus's father. Everything goes downhill from there. Their parents desperately trying to keep them apart, they are now step siblings and then being together is morally wrong. They send Marcus to military school and Parker runs away and into a life of sleeping on the streets and struggling.

Author does too much telling and not enough showing

It's difficult to like the lead characters. Both need to be multi dimensional, but come across flat. I like to get emotionally involved with the story, and was unable to with this book.

Bad to be left on a cliff

Good as Tory as nd writing - as a cliffhanger. May buy part two or may just forget about it.
