J.A. Huss

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

I'll have to review this later. 7 books=7 reviews. So, it'll take some time.

I read this. I read them all. I just couldn't stop. And now I have no idea how to review 7 books in one shot. So, basically, let's just say that I will be rereading these books because The Team is the most amazing thing I've read about.

Tragic introduces us to Rook. A girl who was just falsely accused of stealing from a client and therefore fired from her job. So, like any reasonable homeless person who just escaped an abusive relationship and is fleeing for her life, she decides to spend her last $10 at Starbucks. Reasonable. I mean, when you're down, you're down and sometimes only a cafe vanilla frappe will fix your problems. No? Is that just me? Oh well, back to the book. So, she's at Starbucks, minding her own business when a group of girls walk in. They are loud and catty and gorgeous and clearly they know it. Good news for Rook, these girls toss a business card and it hits her in the face! Rook takes this as the potential opportunity that it is and finds herself at Chaput Studios. Enter: Ronin. Yep. He is the male supermodel of erotic photography. He's gorgeous, rich, famous, and gorgeous. He also likes his girls broken. So, when Rook shows up, she's right up his alley. This story is fairly calm as far as drama goes. Rook is hesitant to begin a relationship because her last relationship was horrible, but she does know that she needs cash and modeling for Chaput earns her some serious dough. Ronin is ready for commitment and marriage and the HEA. He is also, luckily, a patient man who is willing to wait on our Blackbird to come into her own. Fun part of this book: We are introduced to Spencer Shrike and that's a pretty important dude in the next book. So, on to it.

Manic is book 2 in the Rook and Ronin series. The Tragic contract is done and now Rook is on to the Sturgis contract--which has her working directly with Spencer. Spencer is sexy and charming and badass biker dude right down to his tattoos. He builds custom bikes and paints naked ladies in his spare time. Yes, this is the Sturgis contract. Rook is to pose nude, but painted, for Spencer so he can get a book together to sell bikes. Naturally, sex sells so this makes total sense. Plus, body painting sounds awesome and it's Spencer Fucking Shrike. I'd let him paint me. The modeling scenes are some of the best scenes that don't involve sex. Seriously, that shit is HOT (yes, it had to be screamed). This causes obvious tension between Rook and Ronin who are in a weird state of relationship. It doesn't distract from the fact that Spencer is the bad boy of this story and he knows it. Rook's ex and past seems to be catching up with her. Things are happening and these boys know it. Good thing about this book: We meet #FuckingFord (finally!!!) and he has some of the better books in this series.

Panic starts after the Sturgis contract has ended. Rook wants to pursue film school. With a little hacking help from #FuckingFord she is accepted. Yeah. Our boy Ford is a hacker. He's also a genius. Wait, we aren't on Ford yet. Back to Rook and Ronin. Rook's past finally catches her. Quite literally. Her ex finds her in Denver. It is in this book that we have the clearer picture of how Spencer, Ronin, and Ford work. The Team, as they call themselves, conducted some shady business back in the day that landed them in jail. Due to a technicality, they were released. They have been very under the radar and low-key since. But when Rook showed up with her hidden past, Tragic look, and resistance to intimacy this all changed. She slowly starts opening up to those around her. She befriends Ford. She befriends Spencer. In many ways, she brings these guys back together for one last job. Rook's ex is the last job The Team will take. And they will do it to protect Rook at all cost.

Slack is Ford's novella. This story is important because we are introduced to characters who are much bigger players in later spin-off stories for this series. As in, they have their own books, but also appear in almost all of the other spin-offs in some way. So, here we meet Merc. He calls, has a job for Ford, and Ford accepts. He doesn't celebrate the holidays anyway, so why not take a job on Christmas Eve? We learn quite a bit about #FuckingFord in this story. We know he has Asperger's, he is a genius, he avoids touch (sensory issues), and he keeps ladies pets. Not even a joke. He has skanks women who show up just to have sex with him. They aren't allowed to speak and they must perform the way he wants to perform. They will submit to him or they will not return. Anyway, like I said, we learn a lot. It doesn't take away from his awesomeness though. That's not possible. So, on to the Christmas Eve job. He meets Sasha, a 12 year old girl who works a booth at an antiques mall. Her booth is next to her gun-dealing/selling dad, which is why Merc and Ford are there. Ford isn't part of Merc's business though, so he hangs out with Sasha, buys a few things, and finds himself oddly amused by her. Good thing, too because the shit hits the fan later that night. Sasha's life is turned upside down.

Taut is all Ford all the time. Thank goodness. The book is entirely his POV and I think it's the greatest thing in the world. #FuckingFord is amazing and I don't even want to get into his story because it is beautiful and heartbreaking and well, here is how it starts:

"You make me weak, you make me stumble, you make me fall, and even though I know you'll pick me up if I ask you to, it's not enough. I want you to make me stronger, just like I made you. I want it all or I want nothing. And since I can't have it all, I'll take nothing."

Yeah. That gutted me. Ford learns, through Rook, that he is capable of caring about others. It is this off-ness that leads him to Vail, his winter home. It is here on a snowy, blizzardy night that he encounters Ashleigh. She flips Ford's world on it's axis and there is just no way that you don't love him when this book is over. No. Way.

Bomb is the Spencer Shrike novella. It is all about him and Ronnie (Veronica, who played a big role at the end of Panic). We get this story from Spencer's POV. I'm pretty sure this is when I realized I needed my own Spencer in my life. His head his nuts! However, we get to see how he met Ronnie and his pursuit of her. It shows us their first time together.

That bike can be repaired, but that first dirty fuck with my Bombshell, that's never gonna happen again. It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. It's a change-my-life-forever thing. It's a falling-in-love-and-lust thing. It's a recognizing-my-best-friend thing. And it's the day I decide--this girl is mine. Forever.

Yep. That's Spencer. There's drama and shit. It's good story, but I'm in it for Spencer. He's funny and entertaining and hot. And he loves Ronnie something fierce. He just has too much going on to treat her right. He's just trying to protect her.

Lastly, Guns rounds out this 7 book series. It's Spencer and Veronica's story told in alternating POVs. We get Veronica's glances into the past. We get Spencer and all his present day bullshit. Really, I can't go into it because there is so much happening and you just have to read it to understand. Seriously, these plot lines are so twisted and curvy and crazy that it's hard to put the book down. And I didn't. I read straight through for a week. Anyways, Spencer and Ronnie. Yes. This is good. This is when we meet Tet. Tet is a HUGE player in the next set of books. HUGE. He's also super important here. This is the book where all things come together and they will either blow up in everyone's faces or they will play themselves out and things will eventually go back to normal. Or as normal as this group can ever hope for.

Read it. Read it now. If you've made it through this review, then the books will be easy peasy. Trust me. JAH a great writing style and the books flow together seamlessly. It explains why I read 13 books--these 7 plus the next 6--in 12 days. I couldn't stop. So, I don't think this box set is available anymore, but grab the individual books. You won't be sorry.

JA Huss excels at the morally ambiguous. This multi-volume set includes 7 books, 4 dedicated to the series/serial Romance of Rook and Ronin - abused waif turned erotic model and her manager. The Spinoffs revolve around his two closet friends and partners-in-crime. Except the crimes are against criminals and loyalty to the team is everything. There is a lot wrong with the narrative in terms of improbably situations and the type of $$ people get for their work. That said, it's fun read, with engaging characters and a enough steam to warm up a raining weekend.

Tragic--
OK so going into this book I wasn't sure what to expect. I was literally blown away with all of the emotions that J.A Huss pulled out of me. Rook has had the ultimate crappy life just lost her job, and in desperation tries to find a job that has literally dropped in her lap. What she finds when she gets there is drama, drama that she doesn't need in her life, She also find compassion and caring people that are willing to give her a shot, if she is willing to take it.
Ronin is a romantic at heart and he completely smitten when he first lays eyes on the Tragic raven haired beauty.
Tragic takes us through the trials and tribulations of Ronin and Rook and everyone in between!!!
There is such a camaraderie with all of the secondary characters, they all seem like main characters to me and I loved every one of them, well I am still on the fence with Ford but, that man makes me change my mind every other chapter!!!
Onto the next book!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ!!!
Manic--
WOW!!!!! Just when you think everything is going all fine and dandy.... J.A Huss throws you into a total head spin all over again!!!.
Rook and Ronin have their issues, who doesn't right? Well Rook is starting her new Sturgis campaign for work and she MAY have skimmed the contract a little too fast. With Care backsliding with her rehab, Ronin feels the need to help her any way that he can and....... of course that doesn't bode well with someone who has enough insecurities to last a lifetime!!!
we see more of Spencer and Ford and AGAIN I go through an on again off again love hate relationship with Ford!!!!! I love him.......... then he opens his mouth and I wanna smack him!!!
Past demons come out of the dark and we are finally able to see a conclusion the that chapter of Rook's life. But just when you think It is all about to get better..... ANOTHER WRENCH IS THROWN!!!!!
Great characters. Great storyline!!!!! Onto the next!!!!
Panic--
Sigh, the more Ronin and Rook I read, the more I fall in love with them and the entire cast of characters. I t is extremely hard to NOT feel like you are a part of their lives while reading the entire series. Just when things are starting to calm down for the entire gang, their worlds get tuned upside down once again due to jealousy, greed and hate.
They need to all stick together to survive but stubborn and independent are not always positive attributes to have especially when your life is on the line.
I am still on the fence with Ford, I feel like my emotions are all over the place in regards to him!!
Each and every character has a very unique roll in the story and I love that everything flows smoothly as well!!! Onto Ford!!!
Slack--
Oh My.......... For a novella this short story if FILLED with so much. Thank goodness I can dive right into Taut!!! I fell a little more in love with Ford while reading this, even though I still wanna smack him!!
Taut--
HOLY MOLY!!!
Ok, I have to admit that Taut was my favorite book so far. I absolutely LOVE ROOK and Ronin, but Ford's book tore me apart. So much emotion was in every single page as I read.
I laughed, I cried, and I had to walk away for a minute when I almost threw my Kindle. Ooohhh the feels in this book!!!
Onto Spencer!
Bomb--
Oh I love this entire series and I am kinda sad that Spencer's book Guns will be the one in this series. But I have a feeling it won't be the last time we hear of the team!!!
Spencer is the meticulous one of the team but he has to keep secrets that may destroy everything he has worked so hard for!!!!
Guns--
Sigh!!! Major book hangover!!! But I am so very glad that I purchased this series and read them all back to back to back!!!
Everything comes full circle for the "Team" I love that this series is on going and we get to see everyone throughout the entire series and watch them grow to trust, love and honor one another.
There is SO much to say and yet I refuse to spoil any part of this series. I truly adored each and every character!!! I can't wait to read more from J.A Huss!!!! She has become another go to author for me!!!

Stocking or recon?

Ok this was seven books and one. And not once did I get bored with this long of a book. Maybe it's because I'm from Colorado and I can really picture the setting. Most of the places the author talks about I know very well. Like all my life I have been on Colfax wanted to see hooker, but was told that they are on Federal. I know I'm weird, it just shows you I know Denver.

I was very intrigued with this book, or books. I felt I have been reading this forever. I came across the author years ago. Always wanted to this series never got a chance. I finally have. I'm excited to found a new author to stock.

A-MAZ-ING!!!!

The saying better late than never fits perfectly here. I have had Room and Robin: Complete Seven Book series sitting on my kindle for months. Am I ever so happy to have finally read it. This series has it all.....hot AF Hs in Ronin, Ford and Spencer, strong (even if the don't always realize it) and sassy hs with Rook, Ashleigh and Veronica, intrigue, angst, humor and seriously hot AF sexy times!!! I have never rooted for a HEA for a couple like I did for these three couples! I've read a few other books by JA Huss that I really enjoyed but this series has sealed the deal, she is an automatic one-click author for me now!

TRAGIC
This was my first JA Huss read and I can definitely say I will be reading the rest of her works. I loved her words, the storyline and the characters she brings to life. There was a rollercoaster of emotions, some very sweet and tender moments and some very hot and sexy times between Rook and Ronin. I loved their relationship with each other as well as with all the other characters.
It took me a little while to like Rook’s character, there was just something with her that didn’t really click for me. But it wasn’t long before I just loved her. Ronin, on the other hand, I absolutely loved him right from the moment they met. He was sweet, sexy and I loved that playful bad boy vibe he had. I loved how comfortable they were with each other despite what Rook has been through and her reservations. I really enjoyed their banter, flirting and the back and forth between them, I loved how they riled each other up and that tension.
I felt that there were some things that weren’t discussed further between them/things left unsaid and ignored that I would’ve loved some reaction to, but nonetheless I couldn’t put this book down. It was fun to read with characters that were very easy to love
4.5 stars

MANIC
Wow was this a good continuation in the Rook and Ronin series. The connections, relationships and interactions just seemed to grew with all these characters. I loved the introductions to the new characters and what that could possibly mean for future stories.
I loved Rook and Ronin, right from the beginning they had a great connection when through all the ups and downs. I loved how Ronin never gave up, he stuck around and become IT for Rook. I absolutely enjoyed their interactions.
I loved how sexy all that body painting was, including those photo shoots, I really enjoyed the connection she had with Spencer throughout the book even when Ronin was around.
I loved how Ronin, Ford and Spencer were always baiting each other. I loved their interactions especially when they were altogether and the banter they had between them. And these guys just had my heart bursting like they couldn’t be any more perfect. I loved those revelations about the guys, although I had a feeling it still came as a shock and I can’t wait to know more about it (hopefully!).
I felt like the end of the book rushed a little bit as I thought the Sturgis walk would’ve played a bigger part in the story as it all did lead up to that. After everything that went down towards the end, to me it seemed like it was over rather quickly. There were some parts that were a little confusing for me and had me questioning why but it was still very much a good read
4.5 stars

PANIC
These stories just keep getting better and better. I felt that this one had a whole lot more emotions that broke my heat in some places and melted it in others. I loved how all these characters just came to life and made me feel like I was living their world with them (I so wish I really was!).
Rook and Ronin are just perfect for each other, these two completely melted my heart. I loved their connection throughout everything that happened and I loved how neither of them gave up (and their sexy times are still pretty hot!). I loved the easy relationship/friendship Rook had with Ford and Spencer especially, and even with all the other characters as well as the ones Ronin had. I loved all the banter between them and how they stuck by each other no matter what. I also very much enjoyed the introduction of the Vaughn siblings and can’t wait to know more about them.
Towards the end especially, had me on the edge of my seat in some scenes and always kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the suspense of it all.
That little glimpse inside Ford’s mind in the epilogue, holy S**T! I can’t wait to get more of Ford and his story, he is definitely one of my favourite characters through all his moods.
It’s so sad to see the end of Rook and Ronin as a whole, but I’m very excited to catch up with them in the other stories to follow.
4.5 stars

SLACK
After finishing this book there is no doubt that Ford is one of my favourite characters, a-hole and all. My heart just broke for him then melted again and again, I loved his whole persona. I can’t wait to see if he finds his own happily ever after.
5 stars

TAUT
I put off writing this review for a while because I just had no words. Trying to get all my thoughts down was near impossible, so to sum it all up… Taut/Ford was perfect. Ashleigh was such a strong character, and even though she broke down and looked like she was going to give up, she pulled herself back in like a champion and continued moving forward for Kate, Ford and herself. Ford and Ashleigh… I don’t think they could be any more perfect for each other if they tried. I loved their connection and the powerful emotions between them had my heart breaking and melting simultaneously (those scenes with Ford and Kate… heart and panty melting right there!). I thought Ford and Ashleigh completed each other very well.
I loved all their scenes in the book, from the funny/sarcastic moments to the very hot and sexy scenes. All this took me on an emotional rollercoaster. And then Rook turns up and I was done for.
I absolutely loved this side of Ford and paired with the a-hole and moody side of him, he was everything. I can’t wait to see more of him and Ashleigh in future books
5 stars

BOMB
Spencer is such a fun, sometimes serious guy who was very easy to love as a character, not to mention his dirty mouth… I mean what’s not to love! I really enjoyed reading about him in previous books.
I loved how caring he was with Veronica and the heart melting reasons he has and what he does to keep her safe. I can’t wait to get to know more about Spence and Ronnie
5 stars

GUNS
I couldn’t wait to get stuck into the last book in the Rook and Ronin spin-offs and find out everything there was to know, but at the same time I tried to delay it as I just didn’t want the series to end with these starring characters (not mentioning the Happily Ever After book). The curiously got to me and I finished Spencer and Veronica’s story in no time. I couldn’t put it down and I loved it right from the first page.
Just like with Ford’s book previously, it took me a while to get even half my thoughts on this story down. These characters have settled in my heart and head and I don’t think they’ll ever be leaving.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster with hot, sexy times between Spence and Ronnie filled with longing and moments full of laughs. My heart constantly broke over these two and I was dying by the time they got their happy ending. I loved the relationship and connection these two guys had, I thought they were perfect for each other. There was never a dull moment between any of the characters. I loved the flashbacks to the past, of Spence and Ronnie’s time together, and getting more insight to how their relationship kicked off. Also loved the times with the whole Team together and getting those answers I wanted.
I loved all the turns and surprises JA Huss weaved in to this story, it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, especially at the end, and interested to know even more about these characters as well as the new ones that were introduced.
I did have quite a few questions at the end which I’m hoping get answered in the following books. But even that couldn’t take my mind off how great this book was. That last epilogue was just the cherry of the whole book! How cute was he! It couldn’t have been more perfect and I absolutely loved it.

Of all of JA Huss' books the Rook and Ronin series is my favorite. It could be because I'm nostalgic and read Tragic on a recommendation from Amazon, but after that I was hooked. I can not tell you how difficult it was to patiently wait for the next books in the series too. I still can't believe that there are people out there that have not read any book in this series. To be honest, I'm kinda jealous of them because you can buy this whole set for the price of one book and avoid any wait. It's the best damn deal in the world right now (well my world anyway).

I hate any type of spoilers so I will just say that long after you are finished reading this Rook, Ronin, Ford, Ashleigh, Spencer and Veronica will continue to play on in your dreams and fantasies. I personally am a Ronin fan, followed closely by Ford but I can tell you there is a whole group of people that could converse all day about this series. I found them on Face Book in a Shrike Bikes group where everything and anything about JA Huss is discussed daily.

So read this series, join the group and thank god for JA Huss' writing. Trust me you will not be disappointed!!

Absolutely loved this series!!!

So I originally started with the DDD series from this author and loved tet...then realized there was a whole other ronin and rook series. So I go back to the begining. So I start with tragic and it didn't feel like the DDD series so I was worried it was gonna ruin it, but then I got to the end and I was hooked. I couldn't put the book down, since I did read out of order when Bobby showed up in bomb I was so giddy, and thing started to really fall into place and made the DDD series that much better. I have loved everything I have read from this author and will definitely one click her other books. I can't wait to see if there will be a book about number 5 and Rory. I am so glad that I was able to purchase this whole series in one book made it so much easier to read and one click

ABSO-FREAKING-LOOTLY A MUST READ!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🤘🤘 IF YOU occasionally ENJOY handing over control to A TOTAL BADASS like Ms Huss. IF YOU dare to DIVE headfirst into a world where you’re NOT totally safe from harm, where you’re ON EDGE and PUSHED that extra shove into the dark and unknown. A world where convictions are stronger, feelings run deeper, edges are sharper and love blazes that much more intense.

❤️‍🔥 SURE, this HARSH, HOSTILE and HOT AF world created by the fabulous JA HUSS and experienced through the Rook and Ronin books (as well as their spin-offs and plenty of others) might stray a teeny tiny bit outside many mainstream romance-readers “safe zones”.
Ok, so The “HUSSY-VERSE” (see what I did there) might not be for everyone, but with that said -keep reading…
💊 THIS IS THE PERFECT CURE for any number of ailments.

👉 Forget late-night-boredom, adulting-hang-overs and laundry-anxiety. Kiss your kids goodnight and ease the gnawing frustration of bedtime blue balls/ovaries or the ever growing midweek monotony by handing over the reins to Ms Huss.

⚠️ CAUTION : If you, in any way, during your FIRST TIME entering The Hussy-verse, start to feel uncomfortable, taken aback, embarrassed or out of your element, try to…

A) … relax and let it STRETCH your literary LIMITS. Stay calm and remember to breathe through any unpleasant sensation. KEEP READING! Don’t stop the momentum, let it all in, you’ll acclimatise and it will heighten the experience. Trust me.
B )… allow the words to POP your pink and pretty feel-good-bubble and take it ALL in. It may not feel as expected at first, don’t fret, you WILL adjust and come out of it with a new perspective (and a thirst for more). TRUST ME.

I actually stumbled into the Hussy-verse (the name is growing on me) by accident when looking for another author in a cluster of free random books in a book app.
👉Those crazy-creative covers drew my focus, with their OTT extra everything style and colour, and as I read the first one (Tragic) it clicked. The covers ARE actually a true reflection of the content. (These are the ones in vivid colour with, birds, beefcakes and cherries)
Tragic, Panic and were a riot (not to say I didn’t want to throw my mobile (🎧) out the window at times), they blew my mind. I’d say I was a diverse reader pre-Huss, even flirted with the dark and dirty side of romance a few times, but THIS WAS A BRAND NEW READING EXPERIENCE.

👉 These books encompass so much more than any other yet manages to work without becoming over-stuffed fridge-cleaning casseroles of horror.

I’ve loved the OTT world of Rook and Ronin and all the crazy that entails.

💔 The books are total emotional rollercoasters that engulfs you as well as entertain with their dark and delightfully sarcastic (and sort of straight-man-ish) tone that’s a part of this series personally.

🔥 The heat is truly intense at times and pushes boundaries to say the least.

🧨 There are element of suspense, connections to other books in the universe as well as characters enriching the text and keeping the reader guessing and engaged.

🫣 Pet peeves: There are some syrupy sweet mushy feels that seeps through and irritate at times as well as a few “Americanisms” that I, as an open minded Scandinavian find a bit unnecessary.

❤️ There are a sort of HFN of each book, and the loose-ish ends that are left are resolved in the following books.

Can I just say that a long time ago, or what seems to be a long time ago, I read a book called Tragic: Rook and Ronin. I absolutely loved and devoured it. But things got in the way, life got in the way, and for whatever reason a long, long time ago, never read the next book in this series.
Recently I came across a sale. All seven books in this particular series for under $5. I remember how much I enjoyed the first book so why not do a seven book read and see what happens.
Two words…HOLY SHIT.
Well over a thousand pages consumed in 2 days. I haven’t slept, I haven’t eaten, and I haven’t showered. My kiddos ate bologna and had the run of the house. Why? Because I was completely and utterly lost in the world of J.A. Huss and “the team.”
Over a thousand pages of jaw dropping story. Every single word consumes you. No filler… a frantic page turner from beginning to end. My emotions were all over the place. I was happy, I was sad. I laughed, I cried, and then I really cried….a lot.
Even though this has only taken 24 hours to read, I feel like I have been consumed by these characters and these stories for a very long time. I’m gonna be honest with you, I was not ready to leave. J.A. Huss brought us a cast of men, women and littles that will be hard to let go of. I’m not ready.
This was an absolute amazing read. I also have to say that I am so glad I waited. This was not planned but being able to read ALL SEVEN AT ONE TIME….so worth it….so fucking worth it.
Grab this. You won’t be sorry. 6 amazing stars

O.M.G. this series... where do I even begin!? This was one of those.. "Ill get to it some day" and then the bundle went on sale... so I dived in. Wow. Just WOW. I found JA Huss after reading Three, Two, One (LOVED it!!) and my god I had no idea what else I was missing!? This series did me in.. seriously, I just took two days to recuperate before sitting here to try and write my review..

Im 100% on the team, all of them... and I want a Shrike bike, like now.. ;-) Love every one of these characters and after 7 books, I feel like I've known them for years.. Rook & Ronin, god how I love these two. I loved watching Rook come into herself and find her way. That girl has some strength because dating Ronin sure as hell can't be easy... But he clearly loves her with everything he is and I just melted watching these two come together.

Ford & Ashleigh... watching Ash breakthrough Ford's layers was awesome. A man who never cares.. learns and my god he does it well ;-)

Spencer and Ronnie.. was so glad to see this soft side of Spence. Clearly these two were made for each other and while I can totally understand Veronica's misunderstanding of his intentions, there was never a doubt in my mind that she wouldn't hang through it... And Merc, my god, thank goodness for Merc.. he saved them all..

Best of all.. in those last few moments of reading, Im bawling my eyes out.. I mean crazy happy tears when this finished. That ending! Awesome - just absolutely awesome! Crying happy tears and laughing my a$$ off!! The Princess & little Ford.. priceless!!

This series is captivating from start to finish.  J.A. Huss has a way of bring characters to life in such a way that no matter how much you want to dislike them you can't.  Rook is young but has had to grow up fast. Ronin knows the effects that an abusive relationship can cause and sees the pain in Rook from the beginning.  Although the first three books in this series are based mainly on Rook and Ronin their story would be nothing without the addition of the side characters - Spencer and Ronnie, Ford and Ashleigh, Elise and Antoine. The four spin-off stories are essential reading as, although they focus on Ford and Spencer, they still continue the story of the TEAM and all the problems that arose with Rook and their not-so legitimate backgrounds.

There were moments I just wanted to slap the whole lot of them but everything they did was done for a reason.  Secrets are rife throughout all the series but are also essential to the story and how it plays out for each character.  Their paths were destined to cross and each couple fits together perfectly.

There are some stories that you can't wait to get to the end to read the happy ever after and then there are those that you want to continue on past the HEA into the rest of the their lives that follow, this was definitely a life following series.

Rook’s story was so very tragic. Ronin was so loveable. He saw passed her homelessness and wanted to take care of her and be with her forever. He took the time to get to know her, helped her out and used his charms.
Ford and Ashleigh were an interesting couple. How they met and the absolute anguish Ashleigh is going through had me in tears. Ford saved her and her baby almost on a whim. But he didn’t take advantage of her and all he did was help her out.
Spencer and Veronica are a very full on couple. They have strong attitudes and seem to bounce off each other’s tough attitudes. I didn’t really like Spencer’s character. He was so whiny and pushy all around, not to mention slack to Ronny. He’s suppose to be the ‘muscle’ of the group but when push comes to shove, he’s pointing fingers at everyone else for the fallout.

There were loads of no typos but incorrect words/missing words throughout the books. Things like ‘through’/ ‘though’ or ‘it’/‘is’ etc. which detracted from reading the books. I settled on 3.5 stars because of this and I enjoyed majority of the storyline.

An exceptional series!

The first three books in this series are Tragic, Manic, and Panic, and they are Rook and Ronin's stories. The fourth and fifth books are Slack: A Day In The Life Of Ford Aston and Taut: The Ford Book. And last but not least the sixth and seventh books are Bomb: A Day In The Life Of Spencer Shrike and Guns: The Spencer Book. All seven books feature the four main characters Rook, Ronin, Ford, and Spencer, plus there's a plethora of other characters, (some of which will feature in future series') and plots that will blow your mind. This is an exceptional series that's exciting, thrilling, and very sexy, you won't want to miss it!
These books are not standalones and are to be read in order.

Wow! J.A. Huss can write! After reading this book series J.A. Huss has become one of my favorite authors. I loved Rook and Ronin and thought they were perfect for each other! Spencer and Veronica were awesome too. Now, for Ford, he really pissed me off with the Rook and Ronin thing. I saw no chemistry or passion between Ford and Rook and thought he needed to get over that shit ASAP and just be a good damn friend to Ronin and Rook. So why did I tell you that? As much as Ford pissed me off, I ended up loving him with Ashleigh. They were my favorite couple! Read this book series if you haven’t. It is everything!

Nice long series, I am a big fan of series books, I like to get to know everyone and find out what their stories are, and of course get to keep up with them as the balance of the series unfolds. I enjoyed the characters, it was an easy read and I couldn't wait to find out how everything turned out with my new friends! I also appreciated that the author didn't leave a bunch of loose ends which can sometimes happen when the last character finally gets their story it sometimes doesn't get very buttoned up - not so here - there were a couple of epilogues that tied it all up in a very cute bow!

This 7 book series deserves more than a 5 star review. Each book takes the story line and twists it a little more to where I couldn't stop reading to see what was going to happen with The Team next. There was never a dull moment in this series.

There is simply no way for me to put to summarize this series. There is just too much detail you need to uncover on your own. The lives of Ronin and Rook, Ford (my favorite) and Ashleigh, and Spencer and the Bombshell will keep you up late because you won't be able to put this book down!

Well here's my review. I very much enjoyed these books. Rook and Ronins story were exciting. And then later on Ford and Spencer's came up too. There were times during the books that drug out a little. But don't give up on it. Because at the end it all comes full speed. And you will not want to put down the book. My only complaint was that I wished there was a longer epilogue for Rook and Ronin.

Fabulous Series

These seven books follow the loves and lives of three men and their women: Ronin & Rook, Ford & Ashleith and Spencer & Ronnie. All the characters are interwoven within each book but each couple has their own story. There is lots of steamy romance, mystery, intrigue, danger and suspense. These characters are fascinating, multidimensional, flawed and oh, so likeable. There is definitely a series reread in my future!

Ronin, Ford and Spencer are #1

Loved this entire series. From Rook and Ronin to Ford and Ashleigh then Spencer and Veronica, these books were filled with hot guys, sex, models, murder, sex, hot single mom, sex, motorcycles, sex, tattoos and The Team. These stories were about true friendship and having one another's back. True love always prevails.

Loved this series!!

What a series! My first by this author. Although I loved the Rook and Ronin books, my favourite was Ford’s story. It was great to get a look in to his head and understand him more. Spencer’s book was great too. Overall a great read and I’d highly recommend this series.

What a great series

Totally loved all these books a lot of surprises but a lot of great friendships with these 3 stories and I loved how they I twinned with one another. You won't be disappointed at all with this series.

Excellent series.

4.5 stars. Each of the stories were resolved too quickly, but they still worked. They were fun and endearing and so very different, which was awesome. Ford absolutely pulled at my heartstrings. But epilogue 2 stole the show!
