Part 1 of 2 Allison Price. . . An innocent American tourist in London caught in the wrong place at the wrong time? Or something more nefarious? In this first installment, readers are introduced to Shaun Locke, his brother Michael Locke and best friend and business partner, Dr. John Douglas Watson.
Excerpt “Peculiar?” John repeated with a snort. “There was nothing peculiar about that woman. Not from where I was sitting. She looked, sounded, and smelled every bit like a lovely, lovely woman.” He said, pulling his wallet from his back pocket. “Yes, like Chanel No. 5 and lilacs. And well, it’s the way she wears her hair, isn’t it? Loose and flowing like that, it detracts from it, but it’s there. Something suspect about the way she dresses.” “Suspect? Apart from the jeans, it’s identical to how you’re dressed right now.” John pointed out as he threw his money down on the table. “Precisely!” Shaun whispered excitedly. “But I’m a reclusive genius detective who skulks about, and on a regular basis, engages with dullards, deviants, criminals; what’s her excuse?” John shook his head in exasperation. “Ah, she’s an American.” He muttered, shoving his wallet back into his back pocket. Shaun nodded. “Perhaps, but that doesn’t explain the umbrella, does it?” John grunted. “It’s London, Shaun. Lots of people carry umbrellas.” “But it was red, John, red! And broken. Come on, she’s getting in a cab.”
