About the author

I clearly remember a conversation I had with my sister and a friend about infinite parallel universes. We were outside Sedona, Arizona.

All of a sudden 5 young women started talking in my mind. That was the start of 'The World's Apart' series. 'The Chameleon Soul Mate' was published in August 2014, followed by 'The Crystal Telepath' in December 2014.

The floodgates have opened and I have more books in the Worlds Apart series as well as other series coming. I'm loving the ride!

Nightshade

A grand scale amazing adventure and reality, as you are pulled into a portal with afton into the bowels of the vampire laire. To find out how her father really is and what he's done, to change her life forever. But definitely for adults only.

First of all I really love the name of this series...Nightshade....and don't you just love the book cover? I'm a real sucker for vampire books and this series sure has an interesting difference from some others I've read. This vampire world takes place in a parallel universe. This was a very exciting fun read and recommend it to anyone who is a over of paranormal romance. I look forward to continuing this series!

Nightshade by Evelyn Lederman is the first book in the Nightshade Saga.
Fated soul mates, Afton and Lorenz's story is a great PNR romance with so much more!! Battles, mystery & intrigue, villians and worse villians. This story was action packed. I'm looking forward to more, especially Frazour and Drake!

This was a really well-written book. The story had some dark times, but some sweet times as well. Afton was a earth dwelling young adult, who escaped the Nightshade Universe. She wasn't a healthy, she could only consume blood. However, when she was off in college she met a young girl who compelled her to a portal that returned her to the Nightshade Universe and her violent father. She thought she was going to somewhere she might feel like home, but she ended up in her worst nightmare. That was until she met Lorenz, whom she was promised to, he was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. She had been fearing the vampire she was promised to, she was very surprised with the man she met.
Lorenz made a deal with a powerful vampire for his half-ling child when she was an infant. He never thought it would transpire when she and her mother escaped Nightshade. However, her father was determined and found her and brought her back. Now he was going to meet her and when he does, he cannot believe his eyes. Though she was sickly, she was still the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
People keep talking about how she and Lorenz can transform into new beings, she isn't sure about that. However, while in her father's hive, they begin the transformation before heading to Lorenz's keep. On the way they are attacked and she is kidnapped by Malice. Aston is Malice's obsession, along with killing Lorenz. However, friends of Lorenz help save Aston and return her to him. They complete the transformation because they would have to fight Malice and when Lorenz finds out who Malice is, he will do anything he can to strengthen her. Can they ever find peace?
This was a great alternative to typical vampire stories. Though it had some violent and disturbing parts, there were some sweet and loving parts as well. Neither Lorenz or Aston planned on finding love with one another, can they finally find love with one another?

The story pulls you in and doesn't let go.

Entertaining, well written and intriguing twist on Vampires. Vampires in a parallel world. An fantastic interesting dark and dangerous world filled many great characters both good and bad. A world where most humans are slaves. There are the good vampires, monstrous vampires ,the league, crystal telepaths and more.

This story revolves manly around Lorenz and Afton. Lorenz, has to marry the child he of the woman he helped save. Afton, the half human, half vampire who was promised to Lorenz by her father.

Being the first book in the series and a really enjoyable, entertaining story I'm looking forward to the next book.

As usual David Brenin did a really good job with the narration.

This is my first Evelyn Lederman book, but it won't be my last.

New take on vampires in this alternate universe story
This is the beginning of a great new series with a new take on vampires. It’s set in an alternate universe to Earth where vampires are the dominate species and humans are mostly their slaves. It’s a very interesting world and very well thought out. The characters are wonderful and very believable with their own faults and strengths. It’s really interesting how Afton and Lorenz both grow and change throughout this book. I have not ready any of the Worlds Apart series and think my enjoyment could only have been enhanced by reading them first. There are many cross-over characters which it would have been nice to have the back story on. This is a stand-alone and I enjoyed it immensely. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the universe that the author created because it is filled with Vampires, Telepathic Residents and other Preternaturals.
Lorenz was an ok male lead but
I did not care for the main female lead's name, Afton. I kept thinking of a little boy when hearing it.
Afton is a halfling (half human half vampire) who has managed to stay hidden for a very long time after she and her mother escaped Nightshade, and Her father.

Her father, whom she has never met, sent people to kidnap her and bring back to Nightshade.
She soon finds out she is betrothed to a vampire Prince.

There are some disturbing parts in this book.
However, This book was well written and The Narrator, David Brenin, did a good job.

This audio book was given to me free for an unbiased review. I really had no idea what I was getting into when I asked for this book. Evelyn does a great job of keeping your attention. I couldn't put it down until I completed it. The book starts out with a young sickly college girl and ends with a voluptuous, beautiful strong woman. She is an equal to a different kind of vampire than most you read about. She is transferred to an alternate universe from earth to be mated with an "original" vampire. The story line is easy to picture in your mind. Great book. Now to move on to the next one in the series.

Afton was in-like anyone she knew, she could not eat or drink anything but blood, otherwise she became very ill.

She is surrounded by a woman and a number of men. One man said "your father is waiting for you"

Read and enjoy the adventures in this book.

This book is kinda hard for me to rate. I didn't dislike it, but I wasn't fully invested in these characters. By the end I was just glad it was over. I have no real need to continue the series, but maybe someday Ill pick it up between books.
