About the author

Steve Ochs rode the standup wave of the '80s and '90s, making TV appearances on every major network, Comedy Central, and Showtime — plus a couple of Star Search wins, one of which led to a rematch on a Howard Stern pay-per-view special. The proudest moment of his career was having his idol Richard Pryor call him "one funny motherf*cker."

Post-standup, Steve wrote dozens of episodes of the multiple Emmy-winning Rugrats, Disney's Recess, HBO's Crashbox, and racked up credits across Disney, ABC, Fox, and Nickelodeon. He co-executive produced Culture Click for ABC and continues working in E/I (education/information) television today.

After a seventeen-year stage break, Steve returned with "Life in the Middle Ages," a one-man show about midlife crisis that won "Best of Fest for Comedy" at Hollywood Fringe Fest and earned a critically praised extended run. It inspired the #1 bestselling, multi-award-winning MIDMEN: The Modern Man's Guide to Surviving Midlife Crisis, which swept comedy and humor categories at book awards across the U.S. and internationally.

Truly tasteless scatological and/or sexual jokes. It's the prefaces & postscripts by a pompous fictional Eng. lit. prof. who analyses these jokes as if they were Milton or Keats which makes this book so hilarious. Not for the easily offended!
