By golly, this seems to work, even with a magnet as mild as a sheet magnet for the front of the refrigerator slipped between a belt and the lower back. Of course, the stronger the magnet the longer the effects last. Do in conjunction with icing, exercise and short bouts of lying prone, and it cut down time from usual 14 days recovery down to 9 days until there was no pain--and this was a worse strain. Note that the magnet does not have longterm repair effect--it feels better when the magnet is placed on the back, and the comfort is removed at the same time the magnet is, so devise a belt or pocket method to keep it applied when you are up and about, per the amount of time discussed in the book.

Not a whole ton about actually using magnets, more information about how to manage chronic pain. Valid stuff, but not what I was looking for.
