A chance meeting opens Fiona’s eyes to some very sexy possibilities.

Recent graduate Fiona Gillespie is stuck working in a grimy pub in London’s East End, and living in a horrid flat. It’s only while she figures out what she wants to do career-wise, but that’s easier said than done.

When she sees an advertisement for a job at a plush Mayfair hotel, she jumps at the chance. Determination and a spot of luck land Fiona her dream role—and it comes with accommodation included.

Her job and living situation sorted, things are on the up. Unfortunately, her personal life is lacklustre. It doesn’t bother her, though—not until she meets businessmen James and Logan, and her head is well and truly turned.

When a misunderstanding leads Fiona to James and Logan’s sumptuous top-floor hotel suite, she has no idea what she’s about to uncover. Her imagination runs wild, but not wild enough to get to the truth—James and Logan are a couple, and they’re into some seriously intriguing activities.

Fascinated, she launches herself into a whole new world with the two men. But is this just physical, or is their arrangement set to become something more?

Duped Again!

I believe this is a case of it's me, not you. This is not a novice author and her ratings are high, so I thought I'd give her another go. But, I believe it's time for us to part ways. Her writing style and my reading preference have a slight... difference of opinion.

 photo 0a200e1045293c6e6e70b103ac77402a_zpsv2d9h8pm.jpg

here is simply far too much focus on mundane details for me. There is interior decorating and then there's hoarding. The vast majority of Eyes Wide Open reads like a travel brochure extolling the grandeur of the Totally Five Star hotel and/or a love letter to London. Were I contemplating my next vacation destination I'd be compelled to consider adding London. Unfortunately, vacationing was the furthest thing from my mind when I chose Eyes Wide Open.

description

The entire story is told from the perspective of a vapid and insipid protagonist that I believe could do with a mood stabilizer. The first 20% was spent with her angsting over possibly not getting an entry level PR job at the hotel rather than character building. I wondered if there were a specified word count because a great deal of it was spent informing me of inane "facts" like water preventing dehydration and the importance of eating prior to drinking a bottle of champagne unless your objective is to get ugly drunk, all of which had the effect of making this 182 pg book feel like a 791 pg book.

description

However, all of this pales in comparison to the fade to black m/m sex scene. See that singular there. Not plural, you'll notice. One scene! And after the two studs took care of her and were about to get the party started the damn lights got turned off!

 photo funny-gif-cats-fight-sparta_zpsesoptkkj.gif

I'm not sure how a book containing an established couple in Logan and James could contain no MANLOVE, and by MANLOVE, I mean butt sex. But somehow there was only one nap worthy blow job. Actually, the sex as a whole was uninspired and predominantly filled with the insipid one's leaking lady garden when what I was looking for was Pound Town with a side of lady garden.

The kink is humdrum as well. Logan's the dom, James his submissive and Fiona, a novice, is learning that she's a switch. Sort of. If you like BDSM 101 or very little kink in your kink then you will enjoy this book. There is a bit of flogging and spanking and a PVC school girl outfit that gets some mileage.

I know nothing of these characters or what makes them tick nor do I understand what they see in Mary Sue, I mean Fiona. There's little to no chemistry between them and more telling than showing. Fiona is adored by everyone so much so that she has a coughing fit in a restaurant that almost garners the local news being called. Naturally, she's all, "shucks, fellas. You can't be interested in plain, lil ole me!" despite all evidence to the contrary. Logan and James are in some sort of business together that is lucrative since they can stay at the best most fabulous hotel OF ALL TIME a.k.a. Totally Five Star. They have sex a few times and then suddenly they're in love and want to be an established triad? My suspend disbelief only stretches so far and it did not include stretching to an HEA.

It's cute enough and there's clearly an audience for sugarkink fluff as the ratings attest. I'll likely not be subjecting this author to anymore of my lackluster reviews since I'm not part of that target audience.

The Romance Review

Sweet coming of age story, Fiona is trying to figure out what to do with her life. She's wanted to work in the "big city" London. She's just getting by with her bar job. Already stuck in a rut with a degree that appears to be useless, will she end up just another wanna be? Fortunately, Fiona's drive and hunger to do more has not been stamped out yet. She gives it a go and applies for a job that she probably is not qualified for, but is something she wants to do.

This job is quite fantastic. Working as basically a marketing/events coordinator for a prestigious hotel is a dream job for someone as young and inexperienced as Fiona. Her determination to do well and give it her best shines through. Watching Fiona grow and her excitement with all that is new is heartwarming. Even better? Her job comes with a small hotel room. She does not even have to find a place to live! For a young 20-something single female, it really can't get better. And yet it does.

Whilst working at the hotel, she comes across a couple of young businessmen, Logan and James. They flirt with her a bit and things take off. Boy, do they take off! Ms. Felthouse goes from zero to sixty in less than 5 seconds with these two gentleman. This story went from sweet coming of age to erotically kinky ménage. This sudden change in the story is a pleasant surprise. What makes this story even sexier is the sensual scenes Ms. Felthouse is known for writing. The erotic parts are smoking hot. This story is more than just a kinky threesome.

The plot development still centers on Fiona and her growth. Instead of merely becoming more mature at her work and growing into adulthood, she's also falls in love - albeit an unconventional one. In addition, this threesome involves more than a sprinkle of sugarkink. The BDSM scenes in the tale are arousing and accurate. The experiences Fiona has from trying out kink by herself to joining a threesome remind me of my time in London. Specifically when I also took the Tube to a BDSM club hiding in my trench coat only to find out I could have changed at the club. My first time was as overwhelming as Fiona's. Mine did not turn out as sexy and fun as hers, but it was still equally educational. And this is why I enjoyed the story so much. The realism and bringing back fond memories of living in London. Although I lived in the better end… West Central, not East End. This erotic romance is recommended to readers who enjoy smexy mmf kink.

Fiona's a struggling uni grad, working in a tavern and wondering what to do with her degree in creative writing when she finds a job listing for a PR associate. It sounds like she's a perfect fit, but the application period closed the day prior! Undaunted, she sends in her resumé, and is ecstatic to learn she got an interview. And, soon, she's being whisked off to posh Mayfair as the newest member of the Totally Five Star London staff.

As all staff members are able to live in the hotel's discount employee quarters, Fiona's really on her way. She loves her job, and she's making new friends--among them a pair of wealthy guests who are regulars of the exclusive penthouse suites.

James and Logan are delicious. Women and men alike are drawn to them, but they are also funny and sweet--well they charm Fiona, at first. She recognizes that they are a couple, and cannot figure out what they'd want with a woman, but it turns out the James and Logan are bisexual, and have a strong desire to add a third every now and then. If only Fiona will have an open mind...

What she finds upstairs, however, isn't the tawdry business she suspected. Instead, she finds a kinky tableau that intrigues her, opening her eyes to a wider world of sensuality. I really enjoyed how her expectations were completely flipped, and also how she fit so well with Logan and James' dynamic. There are some mild scenes of BDSM, but they are not the focus of the action. Instead, it's more of a passport to a new sexual freedom. As she and the boys explore their kinky sides, she's excited, but also saddened. It's tough being a third wheel...but is she really, or is that how she sees herself?

I liked that Fiona was a strong, independent woman. She went after what she wanted, be it a new job, a promotion, or a kink education. She was fearless, and I think that's what really drove James and Logan to dig their hooks in--she was an equal part of their experience by the end, and a happy threesome they made.

It's smoking hot, and (bonus!) has a plot. *swoon*

Holy Moly!! Lucy does it again!

We have Fiona - a go get, knows what she wants kinda girl. She lands a dream job at Totally Five Star hotel in Mayfair, London.

We then have James and Logan, two stunningly gorgeous business men who frequent said hotel.

Fiona gets to spend one fantastic night with them both - then after hearing nothing from them in almost a month gives up hope of ever seeing them again. During her one night with James & Logan they introduce Fiona to their BDSM lifestyle and this piques her interest. After some searching on-line Fiona finds herself at a Fetish night to find out more about the scene. Then she literally walks into the two people she did not ever expect to see again ...James and a rather annoyed looking Logan.

Full of sexy adventures in a world class swanky hotel Lucy has left me wanting more from these three!!

I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review - but lets face it any book that acknowledges Supernatural in the trademark acknowledgements deserves more than 5 stars! Oh and do yourselves a favour and check out Lucy's Pinterest board for this book and revel in her inspiration for Fiona, James and Logan!

Mary Ménage Reviews

First book from Lucy Felthouse and very interesting in many ways.

It has been a while since I read at first person. I am not sure I really enjoy it. I prefer to know each character’s thoughts and personality which is more difficult to do when the story is written at first person only. However, pages after pages, I wanted to know more about Fiona. Will she find the job of her dreams? Will she become successful? And once she got “there”, what next?

But after few chapters, I got hooked and I was definitely into the plot so it was no longer an issue. The plot is definitely the highlight of Eyes Wide Open. The title made much sense once I ended the story and it was definitely appropriate.

It was the journey of a woman. Sometimes, I felt it was even written as a diary. I could see events and images just like a movie but with no script so it was definitely interesting and new. Most of the stories I read are very predictable and it is sure not something we can say with this story. In fact, the epilogue left me a bit dry as I was almost expecting a chapter when all heroes were old and grey. It was probably the right epilogue for this story but I personally felt it was not enough romantic for me. On top of it, the choice of the epilogue did not match the very career oriented heroine. I was a bit disappointed by it.

The story is labelled “menage” which it is. There are definitely two men and one women relationship. But for me, it was all about her. So, if you expect to find a romantic love story. You will not find a lot of it in this book. The heroine was guessing and guessing and guessing again if she could have more than a fling. I guess I found the hesitation of the heroine to be involved with the men a bit too exaggerated and probably took a bit too much place in the story. I understood her hesitations but it was a bit too much and this disturbed me because at times I did not feel it was a romance. In fact, the romance came quite late in the story and maybe it was the reason why I did not find the romance. So no sex heat and no romance for me.

However, the author, Lucy Felthouse, was very detailed to explain every thoughts, feelings, hopes, fears of the heroine to the point that sometimes I felt the author was describing herself. So it was interesting to follow her journey, a very credible journey. Because it is true that it is not common that two men are teaming up and are interested to have a long term relationship with a woman. So from this perspective, it was indeed interesting.

I wanted to know more about the heroes. I felt hungry for more because I knew almost nothing about them. They loved the hotel, they were rich, they came to the city regularly and that was pretty much it. I truly wanted to know more and the author, sadly, did not feel the need to give them more focus. For me they were accessories in the story. She could have ended with anybody, really. I did not understand why the heroes picked her and decided she was the one. Very little conversation and immediate knowledge they wanted her? It did not feel much believable. But then again, pretty much all the romance I read are hardly believable and the heroes fell for the heroine in a matter of minutes. as if.

It was her story all along. So no equality for me.

I totally enjoyed the “english” style. No doubt the author knows very well London. I have a soft spot for english authors. A lot of them add some humor that I am always looking for and rarely get with american authors. So definitely a cherry on top!

The positive part is that I wanted to know the end. If sometimes the word “fat” was one too many used, I still wanted to know the end. It is a memorable story. I did not like it as much as I wanted but I will still remember it was being a very well written book with a plot I will remember. :)

Wow! This is one super hot, squirm in your seat, be careful where you read it story.
Fiona moved to London with a degree in creative writing, looking for the perfect job. Following up on a newspaper ad leads her to just that, at the exclusive Totally Five Star hotel. Little did she know what else it would lead to.
James and Logan are two very successful, very sexy businessmen who frequent the hotel often.
Explosions ensue when the three hook up but is that all it is - a hook up? Hold on tight for sex scenes that set your heart racing and your mind whirling. M/M, M/F/M and BDSM is the order of the day here and it's sensational.
Oh and if you're a Supernatural fan, one particular scene will have you grinning from ear to ear.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for a Wicked Reads~~

Having worked in a hotel myself for a while, and being all too aware of just how much can go on unseen, I was very please to be able to read and review this story. After a slow start this burns brighter and brighter - and does a good job of introducing some play into a what was a one night deal. I enjoyed how she decided to give things a try - and cameos, like that from Divine, add a lot to the tale. There were maybe some bits which I was a little dubious about (staff of a prestigious hotel drinking in the bar?), but this is fiction so I to let it ride. I loved the description of the trip on the underground in her coat - as I travel by tube in the future, I will now definitely be wondering what people are wearing under their coats!

It is a sexy read, which had a good build up, and I look forward to the next in the series.

Fiona. Young, strong, and coming into the woman she wants to be. She’s real – you can relate to her and her struggle socially as well as economically as a newly graduated adult. Struggling to make ends meet working in a pub in London she applies for a job at the Totally Five Star Hotel and to her shock gets the new PR position. Logan and James are frequent flyers at the T5S, the business they co-own keeps them in London on a regular basis with meetings and it doesn’t take them long to notice the new girl on staff at the hotel. Being in a long term D/S relationship they occasionally like to add a woman as a third and set their sights on Fiona. Lucy Felthouse does a great job of putting us in scene with her characters – the sights, the sounds, the smells of London as well as the T5S come alive off the page and her novels are a treat to read! Her characters come alive with how the interact with each other and the result is a book that is fun and entertaining to read.

Eyes Wide Open by Lucy Felthouse
Lucy you continue to amaze me. I was a little sad to see it end the way it did. I have so many questions!!! Hopefully you will make a sequel to this story. Fiona is a very lucky woman who lands her dream job at an amazing Hotel. She never makes time for herself until she meets James and Logan. These two men will melt your insides to goo. They happen to meet accidentally in the Hotel bar and once they meet they are all she can think about. How is she supposed to pick one out of the two and heaven forbid she actually get them both. Well luck is on her side and they are both very attracted to her. There are so many hot steamy scenes in this book and Lucy has me wanting, no needing more of these characters. Hopefully she will write more of these M/F/M stories. I received this book as a review copy from the author.

Another deliciously hot read from Lucy. I wanted to take my time and enjoy this book.
We meet Fiona who after moving to London after completing her creative writing degree gets a PR job in a high end hotel. Fiona, while sitting in the hotel bar to help her creative juices flow, meets Logan and James, two very attractive men who stay at Five Star Hotel whilst on business in London. Cue some funny and sexy moments. Fifty shades eat your heart out. This book is so much better and with a sexy hot twist. I dragged the reading of this book out as I didn't want it to end. It's so well written you would be forgiven for thinking you was actually living in the book. Lucy never fails to amaze me. Definitely a book to add to you're TBR list

3 ½ stars - It has the sex parts needed for an MFM-themed book but it’s missing something... The conversations between Fiona, James and Logan are entertaining but once the interaction moves to the bed scenes, it is missing the part where the chemistry is palpable on the pages. The plot is interesting. It has a little drama at a couple of points in the story. Fiona’s character is developed well that you can empathize with her and wants her to succeed. Not much is known about James and Logan’s background but their characters are likeable and admirable in how they care for Fiona. The description of the hotel setting and London are detailed and enticing which pulls the reader into the story’s environment. Overall, the story is good. I always enjoy a Lucy Felthouse novel. Her writing reminds me of a melding of Helen Fielding, Sophie Kinsella and Barbara Elsborg. Eyes Wide Open is a BDSM menage romance with an experienced MM couple inviting a novice young lady to join them in exploring all manner of S&M, D/s, and other kinky activities. Always an enjoyable genre, well done in Eyes Wide Open.

I am really starting to enjoy the Totally Five Stars series. This one is set in London and focuses on Fiona, recent uni graduate and new employee at the hotel and James and Logan, two wealthy guests

A good girl from the Midlands with a strong Brummie accent, she is awed by London, the hotel and the two handsome men. For me, Fiona is a little too innocent, a little too good and a little too nice. For the first part of the book, I found her pretty unremarkable and more than a little bland.

Logan and James are hot. I enjoyed their partnership, their friendship and the power-exchange element of their relationship. Once Fiona gets involved in the men’s BDSM relationship, she also becomes more interesting. I expected her to be an easy submissive, but enjoyed her as a switch.

I think I might have enjoyed this more if we had more of a chance to see Logan and James on their own, or to have some of the story narrated by the men. Fiona’s wide-eyed innocent introduction to the world of BDSM was a little tedious after a while.

I found the author’s choice of scenes slightly frustrating at times. There are chapters focused on Fiona’s new job, but the triad’s experiences at a BDSM club are summarised in a couple of paragraphs. I’d kinda rather see the bondage club than a job interview. But maybe that’s just me?

The actual BDSM content of this book is pretty tame, especially compared to others in the Totally Five Stars Series. The sex was pretty hot and I feel this is more convincing as a menage (adding a third partner) than as a story of a committed polyamorous triad.

There really isn’t enough romance or relationship development here for me to believe in an emotional commitment between the three partners - especially when it is only the female partner forced to compromise to make the relationship work.

I have been following the stories under the “Totally 5 Star” banner for some time now. Although Goodreads lists this as book one, it is only book one under the new Pride Publishing – the rest having been published by Totally Bound. But, they are all stand-alone stories, each featuring a “Totally 5 Star” hotel somewhere in the world. Luxurious digs in exotic locations hosting HOT romances. Fabulous combination. So, it doesn’t matter whether this is book one or book six. It is an enjoyable read and not to be missed.

Eyes Wide Open has London as the featured city. The author did a beautiful job of taking me there and enticing me to want to stay in this hotel. I loved the tours of the city, whether walking or riding. They were beautifully descriptive. The hotel was a featured character in the book, something that I have come to enjoy about this series. I enjoy the opulence and the fantasy of it all.

Fiona too was enthralled by the grandeur of the hotel. A fantasy she didn’t know she had come true, to work in such a fabulous environment. Fantastic way to begin a career.

Then we meet the guys. I have read this author before so was pretty sure I would have a hot read on my hands. I was not disappointed. *fanning self* Oh yes! From the moment Fiona met James and Logan I knew there was going to be sparks. Boy was there.

If you are like me and prefer your travel from the comfort of your easy chair, you will enjoy this book. A wonderful stay at a fantasy of a hotel with tours of a great city. Throw in some hot ménage and kinky romance, a lovely glass of wine, and what a pleasant evening. Come travel with me.

I received an ARC copy of this title for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated in any way for this review. All conclusions are my own opinions and responsibility.

M/F/M Romance, M/M Scenes, BDSM
I was given this book for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

Fiona is a character that I could really like. She is a strong, independent woman who goes after what she believes she wants in life. There are things that rarely scare her and she is not afraid to explore the unknown on her own.

Then you have the hunky set of Logan and James. Yum. They are a couple who is not afraid to ask for what they want and what they want is Fiona.

I really liked the setting of this story - despite it being where Fiona worked, I felt that it was a good compromise and allowed the reader to see further inside Fiona's life. I felt that this story was lacking somewhat in the sex scenes - I was more used to a more descriptive nature. I didn't get the heat from these scenes like I did in other Felthouse books.

Overall, I enjoyed this story and wished that I could see where it went. Their future just kind of hung in the balance with little resolution.

This was a really easy read story. It was fast paced, keeping me entertained from the beginning until the very end. I was also pleasantly surprised with the ending which I won’t spoil.

Fiona was tired of her dead end job decided she wanted something different and wasn’t going to wait for it to happen. She took that next step and didn’t look back once. From the very beginning I felt her desperation, the excitement of the new experience and yes the heat of the sex. HOT! HOT! HOT!

Ms. Felthouse made Fiona a character that was easy to relate to. Her experiences for the most part where things everyone goes through from time to time. Some experiences maybe not so much but still they were written on a basic simplistic level that even might excite grandma. The relationship she developed with James and Logan started out fast and although it did slow a bit it was still fast paced enough to hold my interest. I liked that they didn't take her on any journey she wasn't comfortable with. They even pulled her out of a place they felt she wasn't ready for taking her home to explain things. Taking things as slow or fast as she wanted. Ms. Felthouse let us enjoy that journey opening up the possibilities of maybe something different for those ruts...without being afraid of something different.

This really was a fun story with believable characters that were easy to relate to. Ms. Felthouse also described the rooms, area steps of the relationship, the whole sexual encounter in such a way that it was done tastefully. I wasn’t put off by any of it.  I enjoyed this very well written story of Fiona’s new adventures.

Sensual “Coming of Age” Romance!!

Fiona is scraping by in her shared apartment when she applies to her dream job. PR Assistant at a posh hotel which comes with room and board. Her inexperience is a plus as they don’t want to undo any bad habits.

Chilling out after work she runs into “Green Eyes” and “Blue Eyes”. Logan and James are both attracted to our Fiona. They have their own relationship but are looking for someone special to be their third.

Delightful journey of relationships, career, expectations and attraction.

Delightful and Delectable!

Frankie Holland did a great job of narrating this terrific story by Lucy Felthouse. Occasionally I felt her affectations to Logan’s speak were a bit over the top, but not so much as to put me off the story. Would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed reading this story. You get to see everyone's point of view and understand what is going on. The characters are rich and delightful. They come to life in this story. I like seeing people who work hard in life come upon some happiness. I know that not everyone gets to have a billionaire fall in love with them, but I loved watching Fiona go from sharing a place with four + roommates and a job in not the best parts of town to finding a job perfect for her in a fancy hotel.

Fiona has been slinging drinks, pints mainly in a bar in not the best part of town. The tips are well enough so she can barely make ends meet in the flat that she shares with other 20-somethings that are hoping to grab that first ring on the ladder of success. She has recently graduated with a degree in creative writing, but she doesn't want to become an author. While working at the bar she reads a help wanted ad for a posh hotel that is looking for a creative writer for their PR department. It would include a room and she could utilize all the facilities which include spas, pools, exercise facilities and more. She applies and is hired. She is excited to be working there and they love that she doesn't have any previous experience so they can mold her as they need. She has many successful campaigns and she is on her way up the ladder of success. While doing some people watching in the public restaurant there, she sees and is seen by two gorgeous hot men. Of course she chokes on her OJ and they come to her rescue. When they run into her later, they ask her to join them.

James and Logan are business partners in their Property Management business. They do a lot of traveling and when they are in London, they stay in her hotel, mainly in the penthouse, sometimes in a smaller suite. Not only are they business partners, they are partners too. They are a bit into the BSDM lifestyle, but not real deep. The thing is, they are missing their third, a woman, until they meet Fiona. They are both very taken with her and would like to include her, but the only way to get her to understand is to show her how they are to see if she would fit. She does. Unfortunately, they didn't exchange phone numbers or emails or made any further plans to be together, so she thinks this is one night stand. When she goes to a BDSM event, they see her there and wisk her away.

I originally ran across this story and shelved it. When it caught my eye in my ARCs,I realized it had slipped thru the cracks. Fiona is an ambitious young graduate in London. James and Logan are a couple who have a need for a third to complete them. When she gets a job opportunity at a hotel their paths cross. Lucy gives you a steamy MMF storyline with some twists and turns. I really enjoyed this book along with others I've read of hers. You won't be disappointed if menage and mm action are part of your reading genre

Fiona is working in a dead end job in a pub while she tries to work out what she wants to do for a career. Then she applies for a PR assistant at a flash hotel. She gets the job which also comes with accommodation. She meets Logan and James who have a relationship, but it turns out they are both interested in Fiona. They introduce Fiona to a new world. Is this just a relationship for sex or will it develop more?

This is no Nicole Kidman movie

Having seen the movie this is not that story. Eyes are made wide open when Fiona gets her break to land her dream career but it isn't until she sees two hot business men James and Logan that the title comes to mind. James and Logan are not just business partners but also a couple and they want Fiona as part of a triad. Confused Fiona has her moments. This story is focused on Fiona as the story involves her introduction to BDSM lifestyle. It is more Fiona's curiosity that defines the entire book.

I've read several books written by Lucy Felthouse; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Fiona is very strong willed and independent, but I didn't completely like her. This is well written with great details in the plot and descriptions. This really captured my attention once I got into the plot. This is a great read with very steamy and hot scenes.Fiona, James and Logan have great chemistry that really bring the steam to the steamy scenes. I am voluntarily leaving a honest, unbiased review.
