A decent book for the Chess beginner, with illustrations, instructions and tips on tactics, openings and strategies. I only decided to rate this two stars (OK) because there are several errors with the chess notation when the instructions are typed out; I followed them with a real chessboard and there were some discrepancies that didn't make sense. But on the whole, the reader is able to get the gist of what the author is saying and although this book provides you with a very basic understanding of how tactics and strategy work, it's still enough to reinforce the foundation of your chess knowledge and set you off on your journey to become a better chess player.

nice introduction to chess

Even though the book is short it contains many typos, which lower the quality of the book, it is worse since the typos are all chess moves.
