Earlier editions focused on the behavioral aspects of neurological conditions and the neurological aspects of psychiatric disorders. Como profesional, sé que existe en Neurología Clínica y seguramente en toda la medicina -pero la masificación actual y la "Medicina Basada en la Evidencia" no nos dejan ver el bosque- un espacio entre Neurología, Psiquiatría y algo que no sabemos qué. Por qué a una gente le duele la cabez tanto, por qué otros se desmayan sin queelo obedezca a las causas comunes, aun las más peligrosas... Y aquí aparecen teorías sobre esta "Neurología comportamental". No se ha podido establecer científicamente si es cierto todo lo que aventuran los autores, pero es plausible y es posible, y además, hemos de trabajar así porque la medicina no es una ciencia, sino una práctica empíricaa al final. La Fisiología Humana es otra cosa, pero no lo explica todo porque no lo sabemos todo.
Al fin y al cabo, no creo en el funcionamiento de la acupuntura, pongamos por caso. pero he visto pacientes que se han curado así, y eso no puede negarse.
