Personally, I’ve always found treasure hunting to be fun and entertaining, so I didn’t quite understand Anne’s stance against it, but it was still a fun read.
Anne is helping with a celebration to open the time capsule housed in a statue of the town’s most famous citizen. Just a few days before the celebration they find the the statue has been stolen. Anne’s son wants a metal detector and a neighbor sells him one cheap. Even though Anne isn’t happy about Ben going all over town he might have the answer to the puzzle of where the statue is.
