*wipes brow* It’s been about 24 hours since I finished this book, and yeah...I’m still hot for Garrett Hale.
After suffering heartbreak at the hands of his ex, Garrett Hale has no interest in anything other than one night with a woman. He’s happy with this arrangement, but it also means that he can’t touch the woman who has been tempting him since they met. Alexa Warner.
Alexa is part of his circle of friends, and has made her interest known. But, in an effort to avoid making it awkward, Garrett’s kept it strictly flirtatious…until now. The desire to have his night with Alexa is too great and she knows the score, but what happens when their one night isn’t enough to satisfy their need for one another?
This book was SO much fun. So hot, so sexy, so dirty and so, so good! I really fell for both Garrett and Alexa here, and how could I not? They were charming and likeable, and their chemistry was insanely good. I started this book thinking I had a little time to read before I needed to get some stuff done and yeah, well, I still have that stuff to do because I couldn’t put this one down.
I loved the flirty banter between these two – the texts, the back-and-forth, the game playing that kept them both on their toes. One night? Puh-lease, when does that EVER work?? NEVER, and thank god for that, because this reviewer loves a HEA. But oh, getting there with Garrett and Alexa was both fun and a little heart-breaking.
There was a lot of time spend with Ian and Lorali from book one, and that was excellent. I might have not long finished that book, but nonetheless, it’s always great to check in with characters you’ve already fallen for. (I read these two back-to-back, and I want to mention the clear growth in Marie James’ writing; it was thrilling to see her find her flow with this story faster and easier, and to give a well-rounded, emotional ending.)
I loved, too, the set-up for the third book in this series – Hot as Hale – which will focus on Josie and Kaleb. I couldn’t hold back the smiles as Ms. James described Kaleb’s reaction to seeing Josie. Yeah, I loved Garrett and he’s sexy-as-hell but um, I have a major secondary character crush on the hot cop. Handcuff me, please!!

Wow – this couple has volcanic chemistry! Begging for Hale contains significantly more sensuality than the previous book – which is due to be expected considering the nature of the two main characters. The protagonists in this story are party animals who typically avoid repeat performance with any of their hook-ups. Yet neither can deny their attraction and fall into a Friends With Benefits pattern, which quickly morphs into an exclusive arrangement, which of course, blows up when it leads to more intense feelings. It takes a tragedy to pull them into focus, but it became somewhat torturous for them both to get there. This story was considerably more sensual and angsty.

My first book from Marie and will not be my last since I have to go as nd read Ian story now. I truly enjoyed Garrett and Alexa. They were a HOT lusty sexual mess. Their pairing was spot on and the wet t-shirt scene and aftet that was phenomenal. I wish to have had a Principal like him. DAMN!!!!
Yeah this is a must read and will leave you wanting more. Not just from the sex but from the way they feed off each other for comfort and understanding even after the epic misunderstanding that rocked the feel of this romance.

HOLY CRAP that was one hot off the freaking charts books!!! I recently read Ian's book and was in freaking love with it but he has nothing on Garrett and Alexa that was defintly one of the hotter books I have read in awhile... LOVE LOVED LOVED IT!!!
This book just like book one is written extremly well and the chemistry these two have is off the freaking charts. I found myself fanning myself it was that hot!!!

July 28, 2015 Alexa Warner doesn't understand what is wrong with Garrett Hale! Alexa knows she is attractive, she has never had a problem enticing a man into her bed, UNTIL Garrett! For some reason Garrett seems to want nothing to do with her more then the friendship they share due to her best friend Lorali being in a relationship with Garrett's cousin/best friend Ian Hale.
Garrett is doing everything he can to keep from dragging Alexa into his bed, not that he would need to, the signals she is throwing his way every time they are within 100 feet of each other shows him that she is more then interested in him as well. A promise is a promise tho when its made to Ian. He promised Ian he would steer clear of Alexa so that it wouldn't risk Ian's relationship with Lorali. And it would. Garrett doesn't do relationships. But once proves not to be even close to enough when it comes to the fire and sparks between them so they come up with a friends with benefits arrangement. But then before he knows it hes inviting her over earlier then arranged and feeding her meals and letting her stay the night and actually looking forward to spending time with her with his clothes on! Panicked about whats going on and not sure what to do with the feelings he is developing he needs some time and space to think this all through...but how much time? and how much space? and will she want what he wants?
I LOVED this book. Read it immediately after recovering from the book hangover caused by book one in this series! Can't wait to read the third installment!

When love is completely off the table, let the games begin!
Alexa Warner and Garrett Hale seem to be in total agreement when it comes to love. Or sex. Have a good time but don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Have fun but that’s it. There will be nothing more than that. Both have happily lived by those rules up until now….

They are thrown together as their close circle of friends has spawned at least one love match so far. As the way is cleared for them to explore their attraction, their rules become a slippery slope, for both of them.

Well if Ian ever gets in a slump he can ask Alexa and/or Garrett for suggestions...oh my goodness...hot is too tame of a word. I love this couple, their laughter, their innuendo, their conversations and the path that they had to take to find each other. I have finished the series, (the rest of the reviews are on their way), and I must say that Alexa and Garrett are my favorite couple.
Alexa is feisty, hilarious, brash, lovable and hides behind a mask. She shows how tough she is and how insecure she is brilliantly through MJ's writing. Garrett goes down like a sinking ship and fights the whole way his attraction and love for Alexa. When he opens up to Alexa and Ian I laughed at his dialogue, but I felt for his pain and confusion. I think everyone would try to shut down after something like that. At times I thought I was reading a romance, erotica, a comedy and a thriller. I enjoyed this story so much and thought the twist towards the end was genius, yes sad for a bit, but I didn't see it coming and loved the change it brought about in everyone. This group is the epitome of how close and special friendship and family can be. The interactions and hangout of these three girls and slowly the men in their life is hilariously delicious and fun:)
I am not the biggest fan of the cover, but the title for this is catching and oh so appropriate! MJ has a great writing style, gift for capturing my attention, and setting the environment. I loved the pace of this story, immediately started reading it after book 1 and yup quickly started reading book 3 when I finished Begging for Hale.

This is the second book in the series, and yes, you do need to need to read book one first.
This is Alexa and Garrett's story. Alexa is Lorali's bestie/roommate, well she was until Lorali moved out. Now it's just her and Josie. Garrett is Ian's cousin and runs a couple of nightclubs.
Alexa has never been one to beat around the bush, so to speak; she knows what she wants and isn't ashamed to admit it. And she wants Garrett.
Garrett wants Alexa, but he has promised Ian, that he wouldn't go there. So he makes the effort to stay away, but it's not easy. Finally, Garrett snaps and he decides he isn't going to wait any longer.
I loved the fact that both of them were in the same frame of mine, ONE NIGHT ONLY. That, as we know, never is what happens and sure enough, one night was not enough for either. So what happens when one party wants this to be for a longer arrangement? What happen when one of them utters the dreaded 3 words, I love you?
I did enjoy this story, talk about some hot freaking scenes, and warning there is an attempted threesome that is freaking funny! Twists, turns and some drama, this was a very entertaining read. I give this 4.5 stars.

Oh holy hell... I think I am in love wit this sexy man who's mane is Garrett Hale... and yes Marie maybe I do like the spanking's...hehehe
We met both Garrett and Alexia in Ian and Lorali's book.. these two are hot and on fire.. I think Garrett is my all time fav in this series...100% hands down.. good lord...

I loved Coming to Hale so when I saw this one was coming out I know I had to read it. I didn't pay attention to the blurb so I had no ides what the story would be. I started reading it and the prologue is in Lorali's POV. So I thought this story was going to be more of Ian and Lorali but it's not it's Alexa Warner and Garrett Hale's story.
Lorali is a great fun character. She wants Garrett. She has been sending him all the signals and openly flirting with him but it hasn't work. Garrett is a sexy player. He doesn't do relationships and doesn't chase woman.
When Ian started his relationship with Alexa's friend Lorali he tells Garrett Alexa is off limits. Once Ian gives Garrett the ok, Alexa better watch out because Garrett's coming for her. One night leads to another then more. Garrett has a pass that effects how he see relationships. There are some events that happen that change this for them.

Why did I wait
Omg Garret is amazing. I'm not going to lie when I first read about this book I was disappointed cause it didn't seem to my attention and I loved the first book in this series Coming To Hale, so I was in a book funk and just decided to try it, OMG why did I wait so long, it definitely got me out of my funk. Marie did an awesome job. The characters are so real. Alexa is a strong woman who knows what she wants and is not ashamed to go for it. Garret has been hurt before, so he doesn't do relationship but when you put two people with such explosive chemistry together BAM it's amazing, although each book can be read as a stand alone I would highly recommend reading them in order cause the characters are in each book and just makes it better. Marie does an awesome job bringing back characters and leading into each book with a new story. Loved this book looking forward to reading about Josie and the detective or Mallory and bartender Johnny. Definitely a 5star read.

Loved this book looking forward to reading about Josie and the detective or Mallory and bartender Johnny. Definitely a 5star read.

Wow !! I loved this one more than book one.
We'd been introduced to Alexa and Garrett in book one so know a little about who they both are, but what we don't really know is either of their past'
Alexa is a party girl, and only interested in one night stands. She doesn't usually chase guys but Garrett's continued rebuffs at her attempts to get him into bed has her confused, especially when he flirts back with her.
Garrett ~ He's been trying to ignore Alexa's constant seduction but is finding it harder ( no pun intended ) to do so. After being hurt badly years ago he has a 'one time only' rule. But, for some reason with Alexa one time doesn't seem to be enough !!
When feelings start to develop on both parts one wrong reaction leads them both to reevaluate their own rules.
Loved EVERYTHING about this, the plot,characters, sexy scenes were all well thought out and flowed effortlessly. I'm glad we got their story and can't wait to read book 3 .

Oh My God, Where to start? One word come’s to my mind H.O.T.
If you have read “Coming to Hale” by Marie James, you will absolutely love “Begging for Hale”.
You all met Ian Hale in “Coming to Hale”, Well girls it’s you lucky day. You get to meet the sexy as hell Garrett Hale.
A sucessful club besiness owner, cocky and hot as hell.
Garrett doesn’t do relationships, but all that changes when he meets feisty and sexy Alexa.
The sexual scenes are amazing, loved them all and I’m sure you all will as well.
I love the emotions in this story, it was unbelievable. Literally at some parts I was giggling like a school girl.
I totally fell in love with Garrett and Alexa. So I know you will just love them just as much, they are fun and hot as hell together.
Two words to descride Garrett and Alex it would have to be SCORCHING HOT.

Just WOW! This series not only got better with book 2 it got hotter and I do mean HOTTER!!! Book 2 takes up where Coming to Hale leaves off! We have Ian popping a question (and not the one you're probably thinking lol) and Alexa and Garrett lusting after each other!
In Begging for Hale we find out the back stories that have Alexa and Garrett living their love’m & leave’m lifestyles. Yet it’s obvious they are definitely attracted to one another. But is their pull towards each other all lust? Do events from their past lives keep them apart or have them settling for a night or two of lust filled sex? What’s going on with Ian and Lorali and Josie and her crush on the detective? So much is happening in their lives in book of the series.
This book will have you laughing, sighing and yes even crying at the events that take place. But through it all one thing is for sure, this is one awesome book and a must read series! 2 Thumbs Up and onto book 3.

Book 2 in the Hale series but can be read as a standalone. I though Ian Hale was hot in book one but OMG Garrett has outdone him!
I loved this book and I liked the change in the fact that initially it was the woman doing the chasing. Alexa can not understand why Garrett keeps turning her down, this is a first for her. She makes it very obvious she wants him. He wants her but something's holding him back until one night he gives in and he knows instantly he's done for.
Loved the banter between these two, the texts back and forth were hot and witty.
Another simply brilliant read from Marie James that had you laughing and crying, everything a reader would love that would keep you hooked.
Not sure my heart or kindle can take another Hale but bring on book 3

If you like/loved the first book of this series that you weren't disappointed with the second book. I liked Ian and Lorali story but this one is with Garrett and Alexa both very easy going/free characters who love sex with the motto one night stand no string attached. When they meet Ian who is Garrett's cousin tells him Alexa who is Lorali best friend that Ian doesn't want Garrett to make a play for Alexa. Well you have to read it to find out how they get on, lol. It's nice to still get some details from the other couples and find out a bit more about them
Great story, steamy sex and hot men what more to do want from a great book.
I am giving it a 5 star as it has all i want in a good book.

Whew! It just got HOT in here! Marie James knows how to write some hottness!
Garrett has been hurt in the worst way. Because of this, he has committed himself to a life of one-night stands. After all he is married to his business.
Alexa is a free spirit, perfectly happy with her life of non-commitment. When she sets her sights on the sexy Garrett Hale she is shocked at his disinterest. But being in the same group of friends, ensures they will continue to run into each other often, and Alexa is not quitter. When their friendship morphs into something more, neither is sure what to do with those feelings.
I love love love Garrett and Alexa, I could not get enough. I will warn you that Begging for Hale will have you squirming in your seat, and you may need to keep a spare pair of dry panties handy!!!

This is the story of Alexa and Garrett, neither of whom want a relationship due to past hurt in their lives. They agree a 'friends with benefits' kind of relationship would suit them both.
Cue plenty of sexually charged situations and lots of hot sex scenes. They can't keep their hands off each other whenever they are in the same room!
For me, I would have liked more content to the story in the first half of the book. Having said that, once it picked up pace in the second half, it was full on! My heart hurt for Alexa at the end of Chapter 26..... ..and following an unforeseen tragedy, I was hurting for Garrett also.
I loved how the characters from the first book crossed over into this one and I really hope Jonny gets his own story, I would love to see how his character develops.

First let me start off by saying....this is one horny group so far!
I love a strong, confident, know what I want kind of woman and Alexa is that! She's also a great friend which is how she became familiar with Garrett. She wants this man and she's not looking for a HEA just a good time. Garrett is struggling to ignore the signals that Alexa has been throwing out since his best friend started dating her roommate....a best friend that asked him to "not go there"
But things have changed - the best friends are getting married and he's not ignoring her anymore!
I really liked these two. Their push/pull made sense. I'm giving it 5 stars even though I normally would have deducted a star for the decision Garrett made (whether something happened or not) during one part of the story. I'm really looking forward to Josie's story.

I loved book one, but there is something about the flirting and push and pull between Garrett and Alexa that gets my attention so much more. I love books where there is a bit of a chase between the two characters. If love comes too easy, it doesn’t excite me near as much to be reading.
Just like all of her other books, this one is amazing. It had all of the feels and a surprise or two. I recommend that you start with book one in this series. It’s not necessary to enjoy the story, but Lorali and Ian are frequently seen in this book and since book one is their story I think that will allow you to appreciate them being side characters that much more.

Begging for Hale is the 2nd book in the Hale Series by Marie James and boy does it deliver. Alexis love to go out to clubs, loves to be social and loves men. She is gregarious, outgoing and beautiful, but she is getting burned out by the constant going out. Garrett Hale owns the hottest club in town and has been a one and done guy for many years because of something in his past. Alexis and Garrett want each other badly but because his cousin and her best friend are together, getting together for a one and done is not the best idea. Can they stay away from each other? Will one night bring them closer? And will a tragedy tear them apart forever? This story was STEAMY and funny and sad and everything you want in a good story.

Book 2 did not disappoint!!!! I was so excited about the prologue and getting to see Lorali and Ian continue to develop. Now Alexa and Garrett... their names together require fanning. Those two are so HOT! Both characters have so much depth to them that each next part you see a little more into who they are.
From the first book you get to see a little bit of how Alexa likes to have fun. it was great to see her start to realize there may be more to life than moving from one guy to the next. the same goes for Garrett. I was so excited to see them grow and I cannot wait to see sweet and innocent Josie bloom!!!

I Loved this book! Alexa is a strong, sassy and independent woman. Garret is a hard working playboy. When the two collide wow do the sparks fly. I was sucked in into this book from the beginning and I could not put it down. I read this entire book in one sitting. Marie James is one of my go to authors when I am looking for an amazing read, her work is always consistent and the characters suck you in and make you want more. This book made you want to laugh, cry and throw things for the characters having stupid moments. I loved this book and cannot wait to read more from Marie as I am sure it will be amazing.

Begging for Hale is the second book in the Hale Series by Marie James and is the story of Garrett Hale and Alexa Warner. We met Garrett and Alexa in book one, both characters are amazing and the chemistry between them is off the charts. They don't want a relationship, but they are attracted to each other so they become 'friends with benefits'. BUT what happens when feelings start growing? You need to read to find out, no spoilers here. This story was so sexy and so much fun to read. I truly enjoyed Garrett and Alexa. I'm so looking forward to the next book in this awesome series, Josie and Kaleb’s story!!!

Move over Mr. Grey, there's a new Dom in town!!!
I didn't think you could top the hotness factor of Ian Hale or Christian Grey for that matter, then I met Garrett and was proven wrong. Marie James takes scorching to a whole new level with the heat between Garrett and Alexa. She does an amazing job keeping you intrigued from the get go and before you know it, you're done with the book! Begging for Hale is the perfect follow-up to Coming to Hale and definitely worth every penny and minute you'll spend on this read!!!
