I had the pleasure of editing this short when it was first anthologized in Tall Tales with Short Cocks Vol. 2. An excellent example of Armfield's vivid imagination and signature deadpan style. Highly recommended!

Armfield takes us again on an oneiric journey, where fresh heads are needed to break a curse. A great read.

Donald Armfield's "Walking After Midnight" is a quick, wild read. At first I was like what the...? Is this bizarro? It was like nothing I'd ever read before then the story caught me up and yanked me through the rabbit hole-in a metaphorically mixed manner of speaking. I will read it again-I can't get the vision of the singing cat out of my head; I can't quit humming the song. But Pepperoni Coffee? No. Just no. Armfield is innovative and refreshing.
