Kish is one of the foundational books on survey sampling. I am not one of those people who particularly enjoys wading through complex equations, and for that reason found my initial ventures into reading Kish to be quite frustrating. However, if you stick with it, over time Kish's descriptions do start to come together and make sense, and the examples he gives are quite useful in illustrating the concepts within. In short, Kish takes a certain initial investment of time, but the book delivers after that learning curve is overcome.
