Amir Tarkos is one of the only humans in the Predator Corp, the most feared and respected military force in the Galaxy. The Predators seek to prevent and punish violations against ecosystems. Craig DeLancey is a philosopher and writer. His writing includes speculative fiction and plays. His story "Julie is Three" won the 2012 Anlab award for best short story, and his play "My Tunguska Event" was a finalist for the Heideman Award. His philosophical research is mostly in the philosophy of mind, and is recently concerned with applications of descriptive complexity theory to problems in metaphysics.

The first three books in Craig DeLancey’s pulse-pounding space opera Evolution Commandos (paper from 47 North) are together in one volume. They are impossible to put down and filled with exciting action in an alien-filled galaxy that humans have just joined. Amir Tarkos is the only human in the Harmonizer Corps that keep peace in the Galactic Alliance. His commander, Bria, a bear-like Sussurat is terse and mission obsessed. Five thousand years before, the Ulltrians had almost destroyed galactic civilization. Thought destroyed, they had hid out on an extra-solar planet called World Hammer. Tarkos and Bria’s mission involves first finding a human archeologist in the Ulltrian home planet, Well of Furies, which involves also recovering a book in the middle of a hurricane, that sends them to World Hammer to face one of the Ulltrians and recover information of their plans for an Ice Sky Storm attack on the Neelee home planet. It doesn’t help that they are imprisoned for treason and have to escape. Wow. Review printed by Philadelphia Free Press

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. It is not often that one can read a book and become totally a part of its universe. this was the first book I've read in the Predator series and so it took a few chapters to gain an understanding of the relationships between the protagonists and to the varied species throughout the galaxy. The battle sequences are well thought out and well written. The alien species are physically and mentally quite different from each other and from humans but still quite realistic. In the end humanity will prevail!
