I found this book fascinating and multi dimensional a review.... warning some spoilers... some reasons why I really liked it:
No.1. The title could be interpreted to mean "walk alone". It did make me question my attitude towards my own loneliness. Despite the books flat description it was for me a very lifting read and that was a surprise. No.2. Despite an admission that the book was finished with professional help there is no waffle and no lack of detail in the parts that needed it and it doesn't read as there's a ghost writer writing it, in fact the entire read makes me question if the author had any help at all. No.3. The book says the author is not planning on returning to the cave "anytime soon". What was the motivation to write this, an injury an illness makes you wonder. No.4. The "tramp" clearly new the area well, I really now feel I need to know what can be verified and what is made up. The author states some things "needed to be made up". This leads me to no.5. No.5. I discovered this book due to a sticker on a bin that said "tramp alone by frank Pearce is the queens favourite book 5 stars". Which queen?!? Queen Elizabeth! The cheek of it.
