By violating the rules, she kills a young human while feeding from him. The selfish deed haunts her, causing her to steer clear of men who attract her both physically and mentally.
After she breaks with a vampire kingpin named Tristan who tried to turn her against her uncle and her own vampire family, her life spins out of control. Bloodthirsty wolves, a new threat to the Savannah area, stalk her daily. She is dead set on finding the source of the attempts on her life and repairing the strained ties with her uncle Severin, so the last thing Cosette needs is a devastatingly sexy new human in her life. Colton Brennan is a massive Montana cowboy, a skilled fighter who has sworn to win Cosette’s love. Try as she might, she can’t resist the passion he has ignited within her, no matter what the consequences. Can this human provide the love and protection Cosette has unwittingly craved?

A vampire that loves living on the edge. Nothing is fast enough or scary enough. She lives for the thrill. From the moment Colton meets Cosette in the prologue, she takes Colton (and you) on an intense roller coaster ride, full throttle, into an vampire story like no other you've ever read.

Cosette has lived a very long life full of adventure. But when a mystery man named Colton crosses her path, she starts to see a life lived without a man that can handle a vampire like her. Her interests, desires and sexual needs are fulfilled by him. Colton is all she has ever wanted. But there are two major obstacles for Cosette. One being her vampire ex-boyfriend that won't let go and two being...Colton is human!

Colton has a painful past, one that brought tears to my eyes. He has nothing but tragic memories of his childhood & life at home until he joins the Army. After finishing his tour of duty, he makes money and vents frustrations as an underground fighter. Nothing and no one can hurt him, mentally or physically....he thinks. But Cosette gets under his skin and into his head. She heightens the dominating alpha male in him to a point that he refuses to let anything, living or dead, walking on 2 legs...or 4, come between them.

With danger following Cosette everywhere she goes, she is desperate to not let Colton get harmed in her own personal war. However the draw they have towards eachother, the need to protect one another, is so electrifingly charged that he will not take no for an answer. Even if his body & blood end up on the floor. Add a family in need of reconciliation; trust issues and powerful 4 legged "animals" beyond anyone's control...you have an emotional tidal wave that will sweep away everyone in it's path.

The sexual explicit scenes are, in a word, phenomenal! Christine Edwards' dominant, driven, fearless and even blood decadent detail of each encounter between Colton and Cosette will have the reader mesmerized. I challenge you to put a bookmark in during any of those pages. From the very first hands into Cosette's hair to mouths in contact with so many wonderful places to the never ending climax of each & every time they are together. You will either be fanning yourself with your book or having to set down your kindle to take a long cold shower! Christine, you would make Frances Ford Coppola blush, undoubtedly! And then he would give you a standing ovation as I am doing right now.

I have said before Christine has a gift. And that gift is in the details. You can see every room & every landmark without closing your eyes. You can visualize every facial feature in every character. And the words from Colton's dirty mouth drip like sweat off his forehead! His drool-worthy foul mouth makes Cosette's panties drop, and I'm feeling many a reader will feel the same! Then there's Christine's visible ferocious violence and blood-curdling moments that had me screaming out loud for justice! She has hit a home run with "Savannah" and the ball has yet to drop!

This is Ms. Edwards 2nd book in the "Past Midnight" series. I highly recommend sinking your teeth into "Charleston Past Midnight" before you read "Savannah" as several characters from the first book do show up in the 2nd. With the heart-pounding-in-your-chest final fight scene in this book, I wait with baited breath for the finale to this series!

Thank you Christine. You never cease to amaze me with your artistic flair.

First let me say while this is the second book in the Past Midnight series, you don’t necessarily need to read Charleston Past Midnight to enjoy it…although I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to read it first.

Cosette may be one of my favorite heroines of Edwards. She’s extremely independent and spirited, headstrong and sexy with just a hint of vulnerability underneath. I love she is truly the central character and feel when all is said and done we have a better grasp on her entirely, from childhood/vampire origin to the present.

Colton, on the other hand, isn’t my favorite male lead but I do appreciate his alpha maleness at the core. He is a protector by nature, with that theme carrying him throughout the storyline. Although we do know plenty about him and his past, he also seems to be more tangential.

This is another fun turn of events courtesy of Christine Edwards. She has a way of telling a succinct yet enjoyable story. I love that there’s never too much information. She leaves just enough to the imagination for me to create the story in my head like a movie but still gives sufficient detail to paint a clear picture. This isn’t gritty or over emotional. It is pure erotic romance and in this specific case, has the paranormal aspect. There is also great appeal with the suspense and action which helps propel the story forward; creating just enough unease to create that push and pull of the characters. Another solid book and I can’t wait for the next.

Cosette Beauvais loves nothing more than taking risks. When her daredevil behavior leaves her paralyzed her Uncle has no choice but to turn her into a vampire. Living her new life and keeping her daredevil ways has made her into one of the best female vampires in existence. However, breaking off a relationship with a kingpin vampire named Tristan will have its risks.

Colton Brennan is not your typical cowboy. He loves taking risks and fighting MMA style in underground matches. Watching a badass female ride a Ducati then fight off a wolf really ignites the sparks within him. All he knows is he has to make this woman his no mater what it takes.

I enjoyed reading this book with a great storyline and awesome writing from Christine Edwards. I really love all of the characters as they are very strong willed. Not a big fan of flashbacks but completely understand why they are needed especially in this story. The chemistry between Colton and Cosette is blazing!

Another hit out of the park for Christine Edwards!

My Favorite Moment: I enjoyed when Cosette introduced Colton to her family for the first time. Talk about intimidating the only human in the room.

Cosette Beauvais knows first hand how making a mistake can change your life in ways that you would never imagine. Now, she lives in the shadows of historic Savannah and has vowed that she will never drain another human to the point of death again.

Until late on night on River Street, she meets the one man who she would break all of the rules for.

Colton Brennan fights to dull his pain. A tragic accident when he was young left him struggling under the weight of his own guilt and he’s trying to obtain absolution with his bare fists.

When chance meeting with a leather-clad Cosette ignites a passion that is too dangerous for mere mortals – they are going to find out just how far they will go for love.

Savannah Past Midnight continues Christine’s reign as one of the Queens of Vampire Erotica! Her atmospheric locations combined with passion so tangible that it literally scorches the page make her each and every book uniquely hypnotic and compelling. And that’s why Christine’s vampires never sparkle – they bloody sizzle…

Colton is a man used to take care of, and protect the ones around him, but meeting Cosette he learns that some people are strong and protective, too.
Cosette isn´t used to humans being capable or wanting to care for her, as an older Vampire, but Colton awakens something new within her. Soon he´s by her side helping, and when past acquaintances and enemies comes along, she´ll be thankful for it.
PNR Romance, action, suspense and smutty fluff in a great combo.

Another fantastic read from Christine Edwards! I don't know how I missed this when it first released but it was great diving into Edwards' paranormal world again. I loved that our heroine was the supernatural part of the couple. Our hero was still the over the top alpha I expected, but he works with Cosette's personality perfectly. Getting a peek at what characters from Charleston Past Midnight are up to made this book extra special for a loyal reader, but by no means do you have to have read the first to enjoy this one.

Savannah Past Midnight by Christine Edwards is book two in the 'Past Midnight' series. It is the story of Cosette Beauvais and Colton Brennan. I have read book one 'Charleston Past Midnight'. Severin Beauvais who is the 'hero' in that book, is Cosette's Uncle in this book. I just wanted to let you know that.... but other than being nice to catch up some with Severin, I thought this was a stand alone book so if you a jumping around in the series don't worry...you will be okay.

Cosette is a vampire that had been with vampire kingpin named Tristan but now she has breaking off with him. But he doesn't want to let go and along with some wolves that are blood thirsty she is having a almost daily situation with one or the other. On one of these interactions with a wolf she meets Colton.

Colton is a human and quickly is attracted to Cosette. Colton does not know that Cosette is a vampire and tries to save her when he first sees her. Cosette convince him finally that she can handle this and he takes her motorcycle to safety and waits for her to meet him. When she goes to meet him to get her bike he ask her to meet him another night to watch him fight. Colton wants to get to know her better.

Cosette is attracted to him but she has accidentally killed a human early in her vampire life and is scared that she would hurt him too. Cosette find that Colton is 'alpha' type male that she is not use to being around in a human form and it adds to her attraction to him.

Cosette is hurt during one of these attacks and goes to her Uncles house where she meets his wife and waits to heal. As soon as she feels better she goes to Colton who is upset at first thinking she has stood him up..but once he finds out they make up. Will this be the last time she is hurt?
Can Cosette get past her fear of hurting Colton and also survive the people that are after her? Will Colton be the man that Cosette will need?

I have truly loved this series and think you will love it too!

After having read & reviewed Charleston Past Midnight last year, I knew I just had to read the next book in the Past Midnight series! Savannah Past Midnight features some familiar characters from Charleston Past Midnight, but it can be read as a stand-alone book.

Cosette is a vampire, and as such, she is an alpha type in her own right. She is used to taking care of herself until Colton, a human, comes along and barges into her life. Colton may be a human but he is all dominant male and used to getting what he wants...and he wants Cosette ~ from the moment he sees her! As dominant as both of these characters are, they also both have their vulnerable side too. Pieces of their pasts catch up with them and cause all kinds of turmoil in their relationship.

As always, Christine Edwards writes a fabulously sexy story full of hot hard loving, deep painful emotions, and triumphant in the end over all obstacles thrown in the paths of these characters!

Christine Edwards's books are always light, easy reads with a heaping dose of sexy. Savannah Past Midnight is no exception to this rule. While rather simplistic in terms of plot, Christine Edwards takes her own twist on vampires and tells the story of Colton and Cosette.

I liked the action. I liked the romance that came with it. And I liked the characters as well. Some of the finer details of the plot weren't the strongest elements, but the story overall was still a good one. I do quite enjoy Christine Edwards books - they're something I know I can flip open, and I'll enjoy whatever the pages contain.
