Sweet Charity: The Black Maverick's MC
Sweet Charity is the story of Jackson and Charity. Charity, always the beloved small town girl meets Jackson the president of a local motorcycle club when his contracting company undertakes renovations on a new building for her restaurant Sweet Charity's. When they first meet there is an immediate attraction although neither acts upon it as Charity is currently in a relationship with a member of a rival motorcycle club, although she didn't know that when she started dating him. When that relationship ends Jackson pursues Charity full out. Their relationship comes with some challenges. First will Charity even entertain a relationship with another biker? Then of course there's the question of how Charity will take to club life, having never been exposed to it before, and what about the new Black Maverick's family that come along with Jackson? Tommy, her ex, also has a lot to say about her new boyfriend. Come along for the ride that is Sweet Charity!

I have always been creative whether it was making up stories, drawing, painting, or doing all kinds of other crafts. I began writing journals and short stories pretty early on and always enjoyed using my imagination. Seems kind on funny then that I hated English as a subject in school. When I attended university, where I studied business, writing took a backseat and continued to do so for many years as my career and life took over. It was a few years back after the death of a family member that I turned to writing once again. One afternoon I was sitting outside with my dog and I grabbed a notebook and started to write a story. Writing became a great outlet for all of the grief that I was dealing with. It wasn't until a little while ago that a friend convinced me to share my stories. Writing is a terrific way to take you away from some of the stresses of life as you live vicariously through the characters that you create if only for a little while. I hope that you enjoy my stories.

what I liked:
1. How the couple meets and are acquaintances first.
2. How well Jackson treats Charity.
3. No cheating.
4. Love the guys in Jacksons MC.
5. Charity has good friends.
6. The budding relationships between a few other couples or couples to be.
7. Once a couple always one.
Not what I imagined this book would be like. The MC definitely wasn't what I expected either. They had a few gritty speaking moments and one gritty scene but other wise- I can't believe I'm saying this- it was too sweet of an MC romance.
I appreciate the fact that it wasn't over the top in grit, language and violence however, I didn't like that this story was all sweet nothings from an "alpha" president of an MC (which he didn't act like one), and how the story revolves around mainly sex with a small side story thrown in.
This was definitely a case of instant love for one character while the other has been in love with the other for months before they even did anything about it.
I loved the basis of this story, and it had such great potential. Too bad it had more sex, very little of the club life, and the main drama didn't amount to much or make much sense. It should have been crazier than what it was for the subject it was about. I needed more from it and for it not to come out more towards the end of the book. Why couldn't it have had more craziness going on through out the story, causing the MC to actually have to do something more.
The story did leave a couple of story lines open for two sets of couples. Hopefully those work out better.

I thought it had potential.. it started off as Jackson sounding like a straight up pu**y taking about Charity to his best friend and brother.. then once chapter one rolled in, I was like ok, bla bla bla, really? It was more of an erotica than an MC book, don't get me wrong, the sex was hot, hot sex sells, but it had nothing to do with an MC. No MC war, nothing... just sex.. missionary.. riding.. cowgirl backwards... doggy.. riding... against the wall.. on the bed.. making love again.. bla bla fucking bla.. like OK, so you like sex, get over yourself? Where the hell s the MC part? Hello????

This book just didn't feel like an MC book for me i like some action & romance, Love when bikers are tough talking alpha's... Jackson to me didn't even act like a biker let alone the president... So disappointed because this was 1 of my most anticipated books this year & loved the teasers but overall it just didn't do it for me

Well, holy freaking hotness, I am almost lost for words at how great this book is. Never would you believe that it is Author Sherri Crowder's debut novel, her writing style is that of an experienced writer with years of experience behind them.
The characters are what I loved the most. Jackson has leapt to the top of my book boyfriend list. He is all alpha male, however he shows his loving and compassionate side to the wonderful Charity. Charity is quite innocent but still a strong and feisty female, I'm sure a lot of us can relate to her. At its core is a wonderful romance story but it is , also so much more, it has a wonderful suspense aspect which builds and builds throughout the story to an exciting crescendo. I love all the surrounding characters - Jackson's MC brothers are strong and super sexy, and Charity's friends are beautiful women, will we get more stories from them? I for one really hope that we do. Well done Ms Crowder on a unique and exciting debut novel. I happily award it 5 stars!!

Really closer to 2.5 stars for me. The book really isn't about about a MC. The H is the President of a former 1% club and a couple of the male characters are officers in the club. The story revolves completely around the H and h and their interaction through their businesses. He owns a construction company and she owns a restaurant that he remodels. I think the author has potential but it didn't quite get there for me. The sex scenes are smoking hot, very erotic. The behavior and characteristics of the H and his friends are so sweet you can only say they are very beta males. The book is written from a dual POV but the the H's POV comes across as very feminine. The h is a perfect woman. Somehow the scorching sex scenes (which were good) just didn't match up with the goody H and h characters. But, like I said, the author has potential. I think the story would have come across better to me if it had been just a contemporary romance about a guy meeting a girl he fell in love with. It is a sweet love story and has basically no triggers.

Debut by Sherri Crowder! Sherri Crowder did a great job for her debut. Her characters developed over the course of the story. Charity is a woman that is hard working and is as "sweet" as she can be. She is in a toxic relationship. When she realizes through fear that she needs to get out she does. In my eyes that is a strong woman. Johnny "Gunner" is a man that has wanted Charity for a while. He is a strong man and very respectful because he bides his time before he decides to chase Charity knowing that she was involved with Tommy. Sherri Crowder pulls you in from the beginning with conversation. This book has plenty of hot scenes and a little suspense to get you interested. There are side characters that I am interested in seeing what happens with them. What happens when Charity leaves the toxic relationship and falls for the man in waiting? What is the mystery and suspense of the ex? Pick up Sweet Charity to answer these questions.

Wow this story was amazing it was everything i was hoping for from it and more. Sweet Charity is the first book by sherri Crowder and she did a excellent job. Charity is pretty much the town sweet heart everyone loves her she is sweet and nice but is in a relationship that is already bad but you can tell it could get worse at anytime. I loved Jackson he is supper sweet and he has filling for charity but does not act on them because he is such a nice guy and know that she has a boyfriend and does not want to put her in a bad position. When the two off them are finally able to be together will they finally get there happily ever After? You have to read it to find out and its definitely worth it. Amazing Story cant wait for more from Sherri Crowder :)

This is the first book in the Black Maverick MC Series. This is also the first book written by this author. The story is amazing! It grabbed my attention and kept me glued to my iPad screen until the last page. I couldn't put it down. The story is about Charity and Jackson. I loved reading their story develop and their love for each other grow. Their chemistry was off the charts, the steamy scenes were very hot!!! Jackson is my new book boyfriend. I loved his alpha demeanor in the bedroom and his sweet side out of it. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I can't wait to see what Sherri has in store next. You did an amazing job! Great debut!

Had potential
This book started out well, like there was going to be some meat to the story. Instead the story became mainly about Jackson and Charity having sex. There were a lot of story lines left hanging - Hope and Dusty, Faith and Aiden, Brains, etc. The MC was a small part of the story, they could have been in a fraternity.
I did like the characters of Jackson and Charity but the story didn't live up to its potential

I can't believe this is your first book!!!
Jackson McKay is the president of the Black Maverick Motorcycle Club, an ex-marine, and the owner of the McKay's Construction Company. After he took over the president position ,from his dad, he has finished cleaning up the mc from being an outlaw club. He is proud of his club and his mc brothers. He has never really been a serious relationship before. The minute he laid eyes on Charity Spencer he knew she was going to be his sooner or later. Right now he was doing work for her and there was the little problem of her boyfriend. He would never interfere in that. He would bide his time. He wanted her even if he thought she deserved better.
Charity Spencer was a well liked and respected business owner and person in the community. She had bought a bigger place for her restaurant and had hired Jackson McKay to renovate it for her. She loved her restaurant and put a lot into it. She had an attraction to Jackson. It had been there for awhile. She felt the chemistry when she was close to him but she felt guilty because of her relationship with Tommy. She was living with him. She was in constant contact with Jackson because of the job for the renovations. As her relationship with Tommy began to fall apart she seen all the good in Jackson and her feelings began to escalate. Her best bet is distance.
Finally Jackson's work is done on the restaurant and he had over heard Charity's relationship was no longer a problem. He was gonna make his move. Charity had been flirting with Jackson on occasion. This attraction she had towards him was getting out of hand. She could not get this drool worthy man out of her head. Charity still worried about Jackson being in a mc. Jackson shared the same fears. He didn't know how Charity would fit in the mc world. They both couldn't fight the attraction so they were going on their first date.
This book is the first for this author,Sherri Crowder, but I could not tell from the great read I enjoyed. I loved it! The characters are believable and talking about hot alpha men. Oh my.... This book is full of them and where there is hot guys there is always sexy ladies. The storyline is very compelling. Hot and heavy in some places and sweet and tender in others. The whole package. I can't wait for the next book. Sherri Crowder great job and thank you for your hard work.

This may work for you, but the writing style did not work for me. The switch in POVs just happened with any breaks. I never knew when I would reading whose POV. Then I knew each character thought immediately. There was no anticipation or intensity.
Charity did not know her current boyfriend was in the MC until 8 months after she started dating him. At which time, he became cruel. She broke up with him after discussing how to break up with him with her friend. She wrote him a Dear John letter. This is where the story also failed me...she had to get advice from her friend and the final conclusion was a letter? Then the hero who is part of another MC asks Charity out and she says yes.
I stopped at that point. The switch in POVs drove me crazy, but this my opinion. I am not telling you not to read the book.

This is the first book release from sherri crowder, and I must admit she didn't disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it very hard to put down. Its a MC bickers book and its based around the Black Mavericks president Jackson. He is infatuated with charity she is a quiet and innocent soul who unfortunately is seeing another biker from another club who is a bad boy in every cense of the word. I wont go into to much detail as I truly don't want to spoilt it for the reader. She includes other characters along the way that intertwine with Jackson and charity's relationship, that u cannot help but connect with.
I'm so looking forward to the next installment into this series, let hope she doesn't leave us waiting to long..so do yourself a favour and grab a copy...

This was a nice romantic MC book. Had a bit of violence but not the usual MC gritty type of books that I'm used to
But still a good read if you looking for a nice romantic story.
Definitely want to read Faith and Aiden's story.

I found this story on Facebook and bought it for the cover, love Alfie. Then I read the synopsis and knew I made a great purchase. Charity Spencer owns a cafe and is expanding. With Jackson McKay as the contractor, it will be great and he isn't bad to look at either. He is so sweet and a gentleman. Why can't her boyfriend, Tommy, be that way. He was when they started dating but after she moved in with him, he changed and she found out he was part of the Red Aces MC. He didn't try to hide his club from her anymore. When Tommy comes home late and other members of his club are with him, it scares her so bad that she moves out the next day. Things are going great several months after she ended things with Tommy, the renovations are complete. Jackson still comes to the cafe and he seems to be flirting with her. When he asked her out, she isn't sure she wants to get involved with another man that rides a Harley. Turns out that both Jackson and Charity are attracted to each other and it is time to see where things between them might go. Can Charity trust Jackson after the way Tommy treated her? Will Charity help Jackson see that he is worth being loved? Will Tommy take his revenge out on Charity? Will she be able to accept the MC life? I really really wanted to like this book and for the most part, the story was fine but just not what I had hoped it would be and since I read so many biker romance books, I am a hard sell already.
The idea of a "sweet" woman who has a bakery/café and attracts bikers is one that has been done before but I still liked the whole flirting, respectful way Jackson took his time with Charity and the book was off to a good start. The "falling in love" scenes and once they got into it, sex scenes, were off the charts hot and very plentiful and were as well written as most any erotic books that I have read. My problem was that I had issues with the editing and switching POVs with no warning and at times I lost focus with the story because of plot holes or things that bothered me. (example: she was living with the president of an MC but had never been to his clubhouse or been on his bike)
I did finish the book and have purchased Finding Faith and am truly hoping the second book has upped the believability factor because this series has such potential.
Give this new author a chance and both of these books are only 99 cents on sale at the time of this review.

This is quite an amazing debut!! just Wow Sherri, writing is just beautiful and how she just draws you in is just amazing Remember that name Sherri Crowder, because this lady can write!!!
This book sucks you into the world of love,lust,bikers, I could not get enough of this story it was so well written it had so much Depth. The emotions you felt and how you connected with the characters and what they are going through!!
This story just flowed beautifully and oh my my who dosent want A man like Jackson, holly hotness, sexy, hot,raw,alpha, I mean holly hell I just love how tuff and raw he was but thier was also A soft side to him Sherri, did such A great job with his character and the development!
Oh!! Charity, she was beautiful, caring, sweet, I really loved her she had this way about her I enjoyed reading how her character grew from the beginning all the way to the very end and her attraction to sexy badass Alpha biker!! Jackson was undeniable and thier chemistry was off the charts and just wow!!!
This is A must read I am in A total book hangover after reading this Awesomeness that is sherri crowder, writing I cannot wait for more in the seris bring it on!!

This story just flowed beautifully and oh my my who dosent want A man like Jackson, holly hotness, sexy, hot,raw,alpha, I mean holly hell I just love how tuff and raw he was but thier was also A soft side to him Sherri, did such A great job with his character and the development!
Oh!! Charity, she was beautiful, caring, sweet, I really loved her she had this way about her I enjoyed reading how her character grew from the beginning all the way to the very end and her attraction to sexy badass Alpha biker!! Jackson was undeniable and thier chemistry was off the charts and just wow!!!
This is A must read I am in A total book hangover after reading this Awesomeness that is sherri crowder, writing I cannot wait for more in the seris bring it on!!

i loved sweet charity by Sherri crowder. . i devoured it .it was such a nice story between charity and Jackson he fell for her while doing renovations on her shop sweet charity although she was involved with another man at the time Jackson didnt follow through with his feelings for her at the time respecting the fact that she was with another man albeit a nasty criminal from another rival mc . when charity finally left her boyfriend it was another six months or so before Jackson bit the bullet and asked charity out on a date .and holy shit what a date that was .. ! even made me all hot and bothered. lol. i loved the characters in this book i loved the respect that each and every man in the black maverick mc has for women and i loved the way the men treat their "brothers" in the mc i devoured both sweet charity and finding faith in less then 2 days . i cant wait to read more. 4 stars from me

Yes yes yes I know never judge a book by its cover, but this cover just called to me.
From chapter on I feel in love with Charity, she is a strong willed woman who owns her own restaurant. She is everything I want to be. She meets Jackson while she is expanding her restaurant. She feels an instant attraction to him, but because she has a boyfriend she dosent act on it.
Jackson is the construction company that charity hires to help expand her restaurant. He feels this instant attraction to her but refuses to act on it because she is in a relationship. Jackson is the president of an MC. Everyone admires him and just loves him. Even though he thinks he doesn't deserve her, he just wont her go.
While they are wrapped up in bliss they never expected a crazy person from her past has other thoughts to there happiness.

Too "sweet" and "perfect".
That's what I kept thinking throughout the book, just too sweet. I can't really call this MC lite either. All the guys just happen to be part of an MC that used to do hard core illegal stuff but now doesn't. There's another "bad" MC in town and the h, just happens to be living with it's president, who she's been with for 2 years without having a clue he's a biker! He's obsessed with her after she calmly packs her stuff and leaves but yet she doesn't expect his bad behavior over her actions. And let me say, the women's names...Charity, her BFF Faith, his sister Hope, etc...too sweet. I almost quit reading but felt obliged to finish in order to be fair with my review. This is more Harlequin Romance than Biker tale. Glad it was a free read from Kindle Unlimited.

This book is the first book by this author. It has you from the beginning. The characters are what makes this book a can not put it down book. Charity is a sweet kind woman who got with the wrong guy before getting with the right guy. Jackson is the right guy in waiting. He is strong and Alpha all the way. Again no spoilers here but what I most like is how Sherri has written other characters in this book that you start to imagine what their story is also. Charity and Jackson their story is full of respect and love. I highly recommend you read their story. You will want more of this author. Sherri Crowder you hit it out of the park!!! I am looking forward to seeing who's story is next

This is the first book in the Black Maverick MC Series. This is also the first book written by this author. The story is amazing! It grabbed my attention and kept me glued to my iPad screen until the last page. I couldn't put it down. The story is about Charity and Jackson. I loved reading their story develop and their love for each other grow. Their chemistry was off the charts, the steamy scenes were very hot!!! Jackson is my new book boyfriend. I loved his alpha demeanor in the bedroom and his sweet side out of it. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I can't wait to see what Sherri has in store next. You did an amazing job! Great debut!

I'm guessing I read a different book than everyone else. This book fell completely flat. There was no chemistry between the main characters at all. The dialogue was juvenile and cheesy which made the book so corny. Even the love scenes seemed so contrived and although they were supposed to be hot they felt ordinary. If I had to read "babe" or "baby" one more time I think I might have screamed. Charity was just ugghhh... And there was nothing even remotely alpha about Gunner (except he did show some potential in one scene). Skimmed through the last 30% and this is another series I won't be continuing.

I am on a re-reading binge this year, in-between my pre-orders. And this one I absolutely loved the first time round. I can't believe I didn't leave a review then but I definitely am now!
Charity really is sweet, in every way. She tries to see the best in everyone but she is struggling with her boyfriend!! He is a douche of epic proportions and when he arrives home with his brothers in tow, it's the final straw.
Fast forward a few months and Sweet Charity's renovation and extension has been completed and the builder who completed it, seems to be occupying alot of Charity's head....and heart!
A great read!!
