He's a wealthy southern gentleman that any women would go through hell and high water to marry. So why has he secured a bride through a mail order bride service?
Madeline doesn't know, and she's concerned by rumors of his dominant personality - but rumors are just rumors after all, and she knows he's one of the few eligible bachelors left.
A letter in the mail, a hurried goodbye, and a long train ride later she meets her new husband - Robert Cortege. Tall and handsome, she begins to think that everything will work out after all.
Little does Madeline know her life is about to spiral out of her control, and there's only one man who will have the power to put her life back together - Mr. Cortege. That is, if he doesn't push her to the breaking point first.
There will be no mistake as to what is expected of her - total submission. She'll spend a lot of time bent over his knee with a bare bottom, and torn between pleasure and pain as the charming millionaire wastes no opportunity to make her moan shamelessly, no matter who's in earshot.
With a sick mother in another city, and multiple harlots chasing her husband and threatening to end her marriage soon after it begins, she doesn't know whether to fight tooth and nail or hope everything works out.
After all, if there's one thing Mr. Cortege teaches her, it's just how good surrender can feel.
This is a full length, stand alone novella with a satisfying ending. No cliffhangers.
This historical western romance involves adult themes of spanking, sexual submission, alpha male domination, first time lovemaking, and domestic discipline.
This book was recommended by a friend and looking at the cover it's probably not a book I would have read on my own. It wasn't exactly what I expected, it was more and I found at the end I wanted more, an epilogue maybe... This book finds nineteen year old Madeline heading off to become a mail order bride, her husband to be is Robert Cortège an incredibly rich handsome man in his late thirties. Madeline can't understand why such a man would want to marry her but he does and so she finds herself on a train travelling the six hours to her new future. I liked both Madeline and Robert and the way their story was told, it was beautiful and incredibly hot and sensual. The only real issue I had came with Victoria I felt she was a little too much, I appreciate this is a short book and therefore there wasn't much space for secondary character development which is another case for making it longer. There was also a slightly 'yuk' moment but if I'm being honest it fit in with the rest of the book and didn't bother me that much. I think this is the first book I've read by this author but when I've finished my review I'll be checking out her other works. I always tell myself not to really comment on covers because invariably they change leaving my review talking about a nonexistent one but I can't let this one pass. This cover doesn't, in my opinion do this book any favours, I personally would have passed this by assuming it was more bdsm, not that I don't read bdsm books but I prefer longer ones with more depth. The point I'm trying badly to make is that if you don't like bdsm don't be put off, while Robert is a man who knows exactly what he wants and that's an obedient wife this is a lovely read.
This is for that time when you want something that rushes straight to the heat with a mild build up of plot. Kinky Mail Order Bride set up- virgin bride open for anything and dominant groom who is into domestic discipline. A vixen threatens new brides chance at happiness.
Definitely a good choice for when in the mood for quick and hot.
