Great chance to get to know a new author!
Enchanting, and sometimes disturbing, stories from a talented new author. I’d read a couple of Robinson’s stories in magazines over the last year, so was excited when I was offered an ARC of the collection of her work gathered together under one cover. I wasn’t disappointed. It included brilliant stories I’d seen before, like the telling of an older Helen (of Troy’s) encounter with a messenger on the road and ones I hadn’t, like the couple who buy a fixer upper only to find it’s haunted. I won’t give away the plots, but I will say all Robinson’s work carries a charm of character and lightness of prose that skips along and delights. With stories ranging from one hundred words to several pages long, it’s perfect for dipping in and out of when need of a pick-me-up.

This was a stunning selection that I simply devoured! Karin's stories are incredibly varied in genre and perspective, united by their imaginative reach, originality and tightness. An masterclass in genre-based short story writing reminiscent of Black Mirror at its best.
