The book took me to many places that I couldn't have imagined. Although I had male friends including my father, brothers, cousin, etc. considering they opened up this story makes realize not so much. It has given deeper meaning to male emotions.
R. Glenn Kelly opens his whole being to us. Never have I read a book so raw where I see a man's feelings as nakedly expressed as R. Glenn has done. He talks to his readers; we can hear his voice as he speaks and screams. His journey over time takes us with him. His insight and knowledge is illuminating, his searing pain is felt.
While I feel that there is no right way or wrong way to grieve, I believe that anyone who has lost a loved one, not only a child, could benefit by reading R. Glenn Kelly's book. His experience may not be the same as yours, but traveling along with him and reading the way he came to grips with his experience, might just prove helpful to you.
This was a very emotional book. It was very well written. I think the loss of your child is the worse loss. The faith of God was brought out. Also the way males are taught to be tough and hold their emotions in. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
