Dragons Love Curves #12

Claim Me: A Curvy Girl and Dragon Shifter Romance

Rate this book
Mac wants to prove his skills as a Red Dragon Warrior to his Wyvern and this mission to America is just the break he needs. He'll destroy the demons creating havoc for the Thornminster Fire Department and save the day. But that plan isn't going great since just set fire to the warehouse the little bastards were hiding out in and the sexy AF fire investigator thinks he's a serial arsonist.
Oops.
Not only does he have to convince her he's one of the good guys, he needs to claim her. Because she's his fated mate.

Nataly knows fire. It's in her blood. Not literally... that's just silly. Except since she met the arsonist who also saved her from certain death, weird things have been happening. Like the creepy snakelike dragon beasts trying to steal her necklace, and the fact that she made a whole horde of them burst into flames with her mind. This is not her idea of a fun first date.

Loved this short and sweet dragon novella. Nataly was a fire chief that was investigating arson cases, Mackay was a dragon shifter that was investigating demon attacks that were causing these same fires. Nataly thought that Mackay was the one that was starting the fires but then she ended up finding out she had powers. The only thing I didnt really like was that it was like instant romance with not much of a story. But I love all dragon books..so I loved it lol.
I recieved an advance reader copy of this book for an honest voluntary review.

Claim Me is my first book by Aidy Award, and unfortunately, I don’t think it was the best place to start. Being a novella, I expected the story to move at a quick pace which this one did, this one read more like a couple of chapters from a much longer book than a complete story and I was left wanting more background on the Red Dragon Warriors and a better understanding of why Mac was so determined to prove himself. Without that context, he came across as being a little immature and far too quick to throw himself into danger without thinking things through, which naturally led to a few problems and ultimately finding himself suspected of arson after setting fire to a building! Nataly, a fire investigator, is also trying to prove herself in a traditionally male-dominated profession and live up to her father’s reputation. When she crosses paths with Mac, she’s quick to jump to conclusions, while he’s already looking at her with stars in his eyes because he’s found his fated mate. Cue a case of instalove! My biggest issue was how quickly everything happened. Nataly is quickly thrown in at the deep end as she goes from having no idea that paranormals even exist to accepting the whole concept without barely seeming to question any of it, including discovering her own less than human status. There’s very little time to process any of the revelations before the next thing happens, and I struggled to connect with either character or the story because of it.

That said, there are some good ingredients here. There’s humour, chemistry, spice and a world featuring dragons and wolf shifters, so there was definitely potential for an entertaining read. However, everything felt rather rushed, with little opportunity for the characters or the paranormal world to be properly developed and I just wish the story had been given more room to breathe. Perhaps I’d have enjoyed this more if it had been a full-length novel, or if I’d read some of the earlier books in the series and which might’ve given me a better feel for the world. As it stands, though, it felt a bit too rushed and underdeveloped for me. Not a terrible read, but probably not the best introduction to the series either.

"Claim Me" by Aidy Award, part of the Dragons Love Curves series, unfolds an adventurous tale between Mac, a red dragon warrior, and Nataly, a curvy and alluring fire investigator. When Mac's mission in America takes an unexpected turn, a fiery mishap leads Nataly to suspect him as a serial arsonist. Little do they know, destiny has entwined their paths as fated mates. This novella promises a mix of chaos, humor, and steamy moments as Mac and Nataly navigate through misunderstandings and embark on a journey filled with surprises and passion.

Here’s my rating breakdown:

1. **Plot and Storytelling:** 3/5 It’s a short novella with a lot to accomplish. I felt it did well and could easily be developed into a full blown book. The insta love and fated mates tropes were on full display and were well done.

2. **Characterization:** 5/5 I loved these characters. Nataly’s introduction to the supernatural was fun to read and I enjoyed her down to earth natural reactions. The chemistry between her and Mac was fire and so much fun.

3. **Writing Style:** 4/5 I felt abruptly dropped into this world which jolted me but it was the only part that detracted from the descriptive, enjoyable writing.

4. **Originality:** 4/5 I preface this by saying I have not read much of Aidy Award’s work but this story was original and fun to read.

5. **Emotional Impact and resolution:** 3/5 The strength of the emotions, while that was kind of the point of the story, were just a little too out of left field to be entirely believable. The ending was satisfying and enjoyable.

6. **Smut:** 4/5 The descriptions were great and the action was good. It wasn’t the most creative I’ve ever read but it was fun.

Overall: 3.83/5

If you enjoyed this novella I’d recommend "A Girl's Guide to Vampires" by Katie MacAlister. This novel combines steamy romance with comedic elements and features a witty and independent heroine who finds herself entangled with vampires. The blend of sensuality, humor, and a formidable female protagonist makes it an entertaining choice for those seeking a lighthearted yet spicy paranormal read.

This was such a fun, quick read! Claim Me had dragon shifters, fated mates, supernatural chaos, action, humor, and spice. Honestly, what more could you want from a quick paranormal romance?

Mac and Nataly made an entertaining couple. I loved their chemistry and the way their personalities played off each other. Nataly was a fun heroine, and watching her navigate the unexpected supernatural world was enjoyable. Mac definitely had his moments, and their fated mates connection was one of my favorite parts.

The story kept things moving with a good mix of action, funny moments, and steamy scenes. My only real complaint was the pacing. Since this is a short novella, some things felt rushed, and I would have loved more character development, world-building, and answers to a few lingering questions.

That said, this was an entertaining little palate cleanser when I wanted something quick, spicy, and paranormal. If you enjoy dragon shifters, curvy heroines, instalove, and fated mates, this one is worth checking out!

I'm glad I picked up my first book by Aidy Award, and I'm curious to read more from her.

I received this book as an advanced reader copy from Valentine PR. This is my honest review.

This novella is a sweet and spicy love story including dragons, wolves, witches, and wyverns.

It starts out when the curvy fire marshal/detective is investigating yet another arson in her city.

But when she walks into the warehouse of the latest fire, she feels like something is watching her, has she finally found the arsonist? She thinks so and she is turning him in!!

What she doesn’t know is she just found the tip of the 🔥 flame so to speak!! But the found family, love, and spice that is ahead of her…even she couldn’t have imagined!!

Quick, spicy, found family, and some magic all wrapped together in a tiny little novella. Give it a read and let me know what you think!!

This is a short, sweet, spicy whirlwind of a read. Thank you for allowing me to ARC read this!

At just under 100 pages, it definitely feels a little rushed, which is such a shame because the concept is fantastic and has so much potential. I would have loved more time with these characters and a little more depth to the story, but I was still so happy with what I got!

This is my first book by Aidy, but it certainly won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this little adventure and will definitely be picking up more of their work.

The banter and quick wit between the two main characters were absolutely fantastic and had me smiling throughout.

‘I will protect you now, not some boy with a limp hose.’

And the spice? Oh, it was definitely spicing!

If you’re looking for a quick, fun, spicy read that gets straight to the point and delivers dragons, witches, and wolves, then this one is definitely for you!

3.75/5...Mac and Nataly were a fun combination! I loved the fated mates aspect and the mix of dragons, demons, and paranormal chaos. Mac was entertaining with his determination to prove himself, even when his methods landed him in some seriously awkward situations. Nataly was a great match for him, and I enjoyed watching her discover more about herself and her abilities. The chemistry was good, the action kept things moving, and there was plenty of humor to balance out the danger. A quick, entertaining paranormal romance with dragon shifters, a fiery heroine, and a hero who has a lot to learn about making a good first impression!I received an advanced copy for review for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

A delicious little nibble! How I love spending time again with these yummy dragons and wolves, and their feisty, curvy women. Don't expect this little story to make much sense or have full worldbuilding or character development on its own - it's obviously meant as an addition to the series. If this is your first introduction to this world, I strongly encourage you to start the Dragons Love Curves series from the beginning. It's full of feels, heart, humor, love, connection, adventure, battles between good and evil, loveable oddball characters, a dash of mysticism, and yes, plus size women getting hot sex from adoring handsome dragons!

This was a fun quick read with fated mates, shifters and more. There was some interesting action and some funny moments as well. There were some plot inconsistencies and the storyline was a little bit rushed so there were questions left by the end unanswered. I recommend reading this book if you want a fun, quick palette cleanser read and enjoy instalove stories.

A perfect quick book that gave you everything you needed in a shifter book. Fated mates, fight scene, and of course spice. Can’t forget a MFC that finds herself in love with a dragon. First book to read by Aidy Award and I’m happy to say I’ll be back for more because she knows how to write a shifter story. Thank you Valentine PR for the ARC.

This was a great book with a great story! My only complaint is that it felt rushed because of how short it was. I would have loved it to be longer with more details! Overall a great quick read!

Dragons

Dragons, shifters, demons, fated mates and surprises. Really what more do you need for a great book?
This can be read alone without reading the rest of the series.
