Rosanna is an ordinary girl -- unlike the beautiful Sari Roberts who looks like an exotic princess (and expects to be treated like one) -- but she has a special power. She calls it simagining -- the power to be able to imagine and see. Sari manipulates Rosanna to create a world where she could rule ... a world called Celadon ... Now a handful of people are trapped in Celadon and the outcome could be deadly. Rosanna has to realise her own power before it's too late!
Sally Odgers was born in Tasmania in the 1950s, went to school there in the 1960s, married there in the 1970s, and had her children there in the 1980s. Her first book was published in 1977.
Sally Odgers is one lesser-known, yet incredibly talented aussie authors. Her ability to take-on the role and body of her female teen heroine, who inexplicably imagines herself into the body and mind and abilities of a horse is spot-on. I will read this book again one day!
I wouldn't say that this is a deep book, but definitely an entertaining read. I was almost put off by 's'imagining' - I found the term irksome, but warmed up to it by the end. The characters have a Pride and Prejudice vibe going on, which I liked. Would recommend.
